  • Honda Jazz - Honda Servicing - Am I getting a proper Service ? 26 Jun 2012 (Forum)
They are the experts so left it at that. Second: As car is up for Service 3 (36 months) I thought I had better check what is actually covered in the Servicing Plan so went on web to get more information. On Honda web site, see www.honda.co.uk/cars/owners/partsandservicing/fixedpriceservicing/ the Servicing Plan states - at Service 1 to 5, 12,500 mile or time (12, 24, 36, etc. months), "whichever comes first", engine oil and oil filter to be replaced.
  • Rover 25 (1999 - 2005) - 01 1.6 engine/garage problems 29 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Hello - I have problems with a Rover 25 1.6 GS Auto,Y reg, a regularly serviced and very low mileage car(33K). Broke down before Christmas - drive warning light came on, referred to handbook which said it was ok to drive at low speeds - bad knocking noise seemingly from front of the car, and it was obviously labouring badly.
  • Citroen Berlingo Multispace (1998 - 2010) - 15K and one year in. 22 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Twelve months later, here are my experiences and opinions. Image. Let's face it, it is an issue and to be honest SWMBO had huge reservations, seeing the car as the preserve of eccentrics/the very old/ the very odd. One day after I bought the car I was approached by a couple in a supermarket carpark. they had identified a Berlingo as ticking all their boxes for a second car (no.1 was the 3 Series they got out of I presumed) but ......image.
  • Pay up or involve insurance? 29 Nov 2005 (Forum)
I reversed out of a car park space in a supermarket car park....into a woman who was reversing out the space opposite. An older gent who witnessed it said it was my fault as she had reversed out further first and I then went into her, rather than us both going into each other, if you know what I mean.
  • Unreliable European overpriced cars in 11 Nov 2004 (Forum)
The Toyota Prius and Honda Civic gas/electric hybrid cars both were both listed among the most reliable vehicles. The only cars from an American manufacturer to earn top scores were the Buick Regal, which has been discontinued for 2005, and non-supercharged versions of the Pontiac Grand Prix.
  • BMW 1 Series E81/E87 (2004 - ) - 120D SE : 6000 mile ownership report 20 Oct 2007 (Forum)
Practicality wasn?t an issue, fortunately. I paid a very reasonable £11700 retail, for a 2.5 years old which had covered 55k miles. I will start with the good bits? The 120D is a fantastic driver?s car, and that begins with the superb 163 bhp chain-cam engine which delivers a combination of performance, economy and refinement which would have been inconceivable only a few years ago.
  • Golf GTI Mk4 - Resurrect a Mk4 GTI or Not ? 20 Jun 2017 (Forum)

  • Skoda Yeti SUV (2009 - ) - First 150 miles in my new 2 Feb 2010 (Forum)
Skoda Yeti ! I've just covered 150 miles in our 1.2 TSi SE in Muscovado and so far so good. I previously owned a Roomster and got rid of that mainly due to road/engine noise and a rattly cabin. The Yeti however seems much better put together, road noise is also well supressed.
  • Why is it so difficult to change bulbs 19 Oct 2006 (Forum)
(Thread headline altered for clarity. HJ) ...on cars these days? I'm certain we have discussed this before, but I would like to offer the following sorry tale as a caution to others. The Mondeo has popped its offside sidelight bulb. Now, I am the sort of sad person who cannot stand to have lights out, even little ones, and was becoming maddened by seeing an odd number of lights reflected off the back of cars in front of me in traffic.
  • Omega Maintainance Costs 30 Oct 2003 (Forum)
The car is worth next to nothing in part ex and probably not worth much in a Private Sale either. I think it is a good looking vehicle finished in Titanium with a front Irmscher Grill & Rear Tailgate Spoiler c/w built in brake light, not forgeting my boy racer BIG Twin 76mm Sports Exhaust Back Box by SteinMetz!
  • Press Release or April Fuel Hoax 13 Apr 2002 (Forum)
Fifth Gear began on Monday 8 April (last night) and seems to be aimed at the same slot as Top Gear, namely the car enthusiast/boy racer/ABD member/road rager market. It seems that the former presenters of Top Gear - Quentin Wilson, Tiff Needell, Adrian Simpson and Vicki Butler-Henderson - have fled from the BBC to the new programme.
  • MINI Cooper D - Mini CooperD DPF fault light - needing urgent help 2 Jun 2017 (Forum)
I've also been told by my local mechanic that once the DPF fault is up that the ECU will NOT perform a regen until the code is cleared, is this true?  The car seems to perform ok, although av mpg is only 45 for combined usage so a little low. Bought this only 1 week ago from a garage 150miles away (Eastfield Motors in Peterborough funnily enlugh), with a third party warranty that does not cover the DPF, but they have said if I return to them they will ''sort it out'', presumably free of charge.
  • '98 Fiesta Zetec 1.25Si - Over Revs 7 Aug 2007 (Forum)
OK so basically here is my problem, (I know this has been covered in other topics but i would like a few questions answered! I have done my research and previously searched the forum for some answers, so please don't blast me search results cause that isn't helpful to any one!)
  • Jaguar XKR-S (2008 - ) - Warranty problem after service confusion. 11 Aug 2009 (Forum)
Lets just say they made a mistake, would they not be liable for the repair, my trauma in those split seconds (I thought I was going to die.!) lost business to my company for me not being on the road, Paying for a car that I cannot use, paying for the replacement car until this is sorted out. Oh. This is the best bit. Because they?ve said they?re not covering the work then I cant have the replacement car. So here I am.
  • Are current VED rules simply killing old cars? 9 Nov 2013 (Forum)
So, my question again... Are current VED rules simply killing old cars? (Regardless of whether it's necessary) Are they designed to push people into buying new cars?  Let me give you an example... using my own car. My car is a Volkswagen Lupo SDI. It has a 1.7 N/A Diesel Engine.
  • Buyers Experience - Motorpoint, Carsite, Skoda etc 30 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Over to his desk and we realised he expected to do the deal in front of the computer with the car itself being secondary to the well scripted patter. They did have one model of great interest but despite it being listed at the site it was in fact 100+ miles away at another depot. The guy wanted us to put down a £300 deposit for them to get the car over for us to inspect... with the inference that they may not return said deposit if we turned the car down without good reason once we'd seen it.
  • Vauxhall Zafira A - How long can an average petrol car run for? 24 Oct 2018 (Forum)
So is 163,000 miles quite high for a petrol or is my dad worrying me prematurely also I'm going to The Netherlands this year, is it quite risky to take such a high mileage car to The Netherlands, am I better hiring a car for that trip or getting decent breakdown cover.
  • Audi TT (51 Plate Reg 2002) - Second Hand Car Purc 7 Apr 2013 (Forum)
Here is a timeline of events (apologies for length!):  - Car purchased Feb 9th, day of purchase front wiper motor fails rendering the car unsafe to use.  Contact dealer immediately who offers (lengthy conversation) to let me take the car to a garage (on a dry day) and get it repaired.
  • Audi TT (51 Plate Reg 2002) - Second Hand Car Purchase From Trader 6 Apr 2013 (Forum)
Also dealer would not advise name or contact details for the garage the work was carried out at?!  - Day car is returned, coolant leak occurs from hose going into the heater matrix. (something disconnected during cambelt service i suspect) car once again undrivable. £70 later, hose reconnected and coolant bottle filled (EXPENSE TO ME) car is back on the road.
  • Peugeot 207 1.6Hdi 110bhp Sport - 35,095miles - DPF Removal 16 Oct 2012 (Forum)
None of these guarantees were kept so much so that (i) the engine DID NOT run optimally after the DPF was removed & it DID have error faults; (ii) my vehicle DID smoke considerably & this was pointed out to one of his employees; and (iii) they DID hammer & chisel at my car's DPF! They never secured it in their 'industrial pillar drill' but, instead, left the whole unit in the vehicle & bore out PARTS of the DPF Honeycomb & then welded amateurishly ('touch welding') the opening they did in the DPF's casing & covered everything by a coa*** covering of hard-metal.
