  • Camera van on road that is being resurfaced 28 Aug 2014 (Forum)
Hello, yesterday whilst driving into work I passed a camera van that was sat on the side of the road, this road is normally  50mph but is currently being resurfaced.  I was doing roughly 30mph coming round the corner, panic'd slightly at seeing the van and slowed down to 20mph that is marked at the start of the rough road by a 'max speed 20mph sign'.
  • Speed camera road humping being monitored 29 May 2009 (Forum)
Went out motoring today - A speed hump jangled the springs - then a rash of cameras pointed at my number plate. Later I had the thought that because I had driven over a canal bridge - I would be on a data-base that grouped my number plate with canal barges including those big ones going up the Rhine.
  • Speed limit of A46 Lincoln bypass 12 May 2008 (Forum)
In my rearview mirror, on Saturday I spotted cars behind me being flashed by a speed camera on the dual carriageway section of the A46 Lincoln bypass. In the past, in the absence of signs to the contrary, I've always assumed that the limit was 70 and in fact I've driven past the camera at 70 on countless occasions.
  • M25 - Some cameras going digital 10 Feb 2008 (Forum)
In Quentin Wilson article today he says that the Highways Agency has confirmed that all speed cameras on the variable speed limit section junctions 10 - 16 will be going digital, and that the trigger point is being lowered from 90 to 79 MPH from 15 Feb. • "Visible" Speed Cameras 1 Mar 2002 (Forum)
Given the circumstances (men working, narrow lanes, contraflow, cones, busy traffic), driving above 40 would have been silly. Nevertheless, painting the camera yellow and then hiding it seems a little dubious.
  • Speed cameras on the M62, M6, M5 4 Aug 2001 (Forum)
Hi, off on the annual hols to Dorset in a few weeks time, traveling on the M62 from West Yorks onto the M60 then the M6 and so to the M5, where are the speed cameras on these roads? I found Marks bit on MORE SPECS on the M6 junction 6 & 7 but couldn't find the original thread that started that one off. Going very early to miss traffic and get up a good pace so knowing where all the points of interest are will be good news.

  • Bizarre ... 20 Mar 2003 (Forum)
From the BBC... Ministers introduced yellow cameras last year. It followed concerns that grey cameras actually increased the risks of accidents because drivers tended to break suddenly after seeing them. Break what? :)

  • Wildlife cameras - Any experiences? 19 Apr 2023 (Forum)
We only have a small garden, but in the morning he'll spend 20 or 30 minutes out there sniffing every square inch. Out of curiosity I'd like to know the reason and hence the interest in a camera. So many to choose from with prices from £30 up.  Anyone got one?
  • Mobile speed camera on M180 6 Mar 2009 (Forum)
Afternoon all Yesterday afternoon (sat 21st) I was motoring eastbound on the M180 and in the process of overtaking saw maybe too late a mobile camera van on top of one of the police patrol vehicles only mounds. The back windows were open so I guess it was in action. I estimate my speed to be between 75 and 80 mph measured by GPS. Are the police allowed to do this as I saw no warning signs apart from at the bridge repair roadworks several miles earlier and am I likely to be recieving a ticket?
