Keeping a five year old S-Max 24 May 2014 (Forum)
I have decided to keep my S-Max TDCi Auto for at least another 18 months. It is about to have a service and MoT at 50,000 miles. It has been regularly serviced (every 12 months and 10,000 miles) and has been reliable. -
Vectra 2.5 V6 S plate - Can't lock the doors. 2 Dec 2013 (Forum)
First time post. I have just purchased a second hand Vectra 2.5 V6 (S Plate). It was a cheap car that had a few problem which have been fixed apart from one thing "I can lock the doors". It looks like the car was broken into at some point. So, the key i have starts the car from the ignition fine. -
MINI Cooper S - Is 79,000 miles too high for 58 plate Mini Cooper 30 Sep 2013 (Forum)
I am looking at purchasing 58 plate Mini Cooper S but the mileage is 79k. The price seems quite good at £8000 but I'm not sure if it would be better to buy an older mini with lower mileage. I like this car and it has the lower tax as well as some great features, but I have always had low mileage cars in the past and this mileage worries me slightly. -
Ford S-MAX - Car servicing dates 29 May 2012 (Forum)
My S-Max will be three years old on 29 June 2012. It was serviced in May 2010, early April 2011 (due to an extended holiday) and I now need to consider the 2012 service. Servicing regime is 12,500 miles or 12 months. -

Reliable runabout for Gladys? 31 Dec 2010 (Forum)
Ok my old aunt isn`t really called Gladys but she would like a narrower car to make parking and getting in&out of vehicle easier in her garage.Plan B is to win the pools/lotto and build a bigger garage. Also don`t think Santa can squeeze a prefab kit in his sack(Trade unions+H&S),so plan A is to find a reliable narrower car than her 2007 fez-bomb.She`s not a fan of the Micra`s looks but did mention Kia,don`t think she wants anything too small.Assume she would buy newish previously owned or new.I haven`t had time to go around supermarket car-parks with a tape measure so has anyone any ideas please? -

Ford S-MAX (2006 - ) - Tyre goo 4 Aug 2008 (Forum)
Bought an S-max. I like it, however in keeping with lots of modern cars there's no spare, just goo and a compressor. Have been thinking that this will be a real pain if I do get a puncture, and I think ruins a possibly repairable tyre. -

Ford KA, KA2, KA3 (1996 - 2008) - new one - £4,995 whats the likely experience? 10 Dec 2007 (Forum)
New 57 reg Ka`s on sale at Ford dealers for £4,995. What`s the likely lifespan (engine and body)and typical problems that would be encountered in ownership? I seem to remember paying just a few hundred less than that in 1985 for a VW Polo C. -
Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - V Reg HDi - Electrical problems 6 Dec 2007 (Forum)
Hi, I wonder if you can help regarding a friend?s car. She has a Pug 306 HDi (V reg). The rear wiper has always been temperamental, sometimes it does a full sweep, sometimes not but it?s never been a really huge problem. Over the weekend, she put on the rear wiper and the battery light came illuminated on the dash. -

mk4 Golf PD115 and 130 - identifying. 11 Jan 2007 (Forum)
A lot of people are trying to pass off pre 2001 115's as 130's which is physically impossible, so I assume on the crossover cars of mid 2001, it could be hard to tell. Not too bothered which we end up with to be honest, as I'm more concerned about condition and service history, but it would be nice to be able to tell for sure what the car we're looking at is. -

Peugeot 406 queries 13 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Just bought a very nice 99 Peugeot 406 2.0 HDI at auction tonight, and notice it needs one or two minor things doing to it. 1.n/s/f and n/s/r/ indicators don't work, although the front wing one does.(Bulbs??) 2.n/s/r/brake light doesn't work.(Again bulb??) 3.Spanner light is on.How do you re-set it if you service a car yourself? -

American Car Reliability 21 Nov 2004 (Forum)
v=e&t=26091&m=267187 Quite a lot of discrepancies between the 2 surveys in your post. For instance the Consumer Report lists the Jaguar S-Type and Jaguar X-Type at the top of the LEAST reliable listings for mid-range cars; this list also includes the Merc S, E, & C Classes and BMW 5 & 7 Series. (Although how Mercedes S Class & BMW 7 Series are listed as 'mid range' cars beats me.) -
