Washing Machine - Robbing bar stewards. 27 Jan 2019 (Forum)
Since then the retailer has been ringing, texting and e-mailing wanting me to buy their 5 year warranty. Apparently it covers the machine after the 1 or 2 year warranty has expired. When I told them that it already had a 5 year warranty they insisted theirs was a far better warranty, told them to go away. -
Volkswagen Passat - Consumer Advice Req - 2 Breakdowns in 10 weeks 31 Jan 2011 (Forum)
1) I've been reading up on consumer law, and am wondering if 10 weeks/6000 miles would prevent me from rejecting the vehicle. 2) The Sale of Goods Act gives me protection in the first 6 months of buying a used car, in the form of the dealer having to prove that the fault wasn't present when the car was sold. Do injectors breakdown suddenly, or do they degrade over a period of time? 3) The dealer/warranty companies approved repairer recommended after the first breakdown that all injectors be replaced (it's stated on the invoice), but the warranty company refused to pay for that. -
Skoda Supreb 69 Plate - Trim issues 9 Mar 2020 (Forum)
The chrome trim round the drivers door is also coming away. Shocking build quality I am really disappointed as I love the car big and comfy but Skoda say there is only a 3 month warranty on trim parts. Anything else is good will. It’s a £36k car how on Earth can the warranty be only 3 months? I’ve emailed the CEO and the dealer and await the response. -
1st service at main dealer 4 Jun 2009 (Forum)
I was about to book it in when by chance found the following on the net. http://www.servicingstop.co.uk/ Seems a bit to good to be true, they have over 750 garages nationwide, promise to pick up your car from home then deliver back after service. including a wash and vac they use genuine parts and will not invalidate you car warranty. The servicing costs are very competetive. Anyone used this people, I've not heard of them before, just a little bit suspicious. -
Changing brand of oil - bmw 525d 8 Apr 2004 (Forum)
My car has been serviced using Mobil 1 since new and prior to me acquiring it, its service intervals, though variable, have been around the 15k mark. I purchased the car in January just after the warranty expired and would like to carry out more frequent oil changes, about every 5k. -
Honda Accord Tourer (2003 - 2008) - Warranty Repairs 1 Feb 2008 (Forum)
I strongly suspect this also means that they are taking spares off 'donor cars' to assist fault finding. The end result is that the car is taking too long to be fixed and to be honest whilst I have every sympathy for the (very courteous and helpful) dealer in question, it means that my 'super-reliable' Honda is not much use at the moment. -

An 05 Focus LX 1.6 or an 2001 Mini One. The (05) focus has 50k on the clock, full service history, 2 owners 6 months warranty, year MoT from local reputable dealer and is up for £4600. -
Workshop manuals - Vaux Meriva 30 Jun 2007 (Forum)
My Meriva is now out of warranty, and I want to service the car myself. There is no Haynes manual for it, but a search on the net brings up http://www.datamanuals.net/ which list a Vauxhall Workshop CD rom covering it and many other models. -

Warranty claim / conflict of interest for garage 31 Jul 2009 (Forum)
Earlier this year I bought an approved used car which came with a years manufacturers warranty. I remember that the sales person mentioned that the previous owner was a member of their staff, a technician from the work shop. When I bought the car she had covered just over 52000 miles. -
Hyundai i30 Crdi - Used car repairs 31 Mar 2021 (Forum)
I have contacted the dealer to be told by them the car is now out of warranty with them (only 3 months warranty) I have politely informed them that as the car is under 6 months after purchase, sales of goods act its assumed that the fault was there when I purchased the car and I'm required to give them the opportunity to rectify. -
Ford Focus III (2008 - ) - buying nearly new from dealer 2 Apr 2009 (Forum)
I've never bought a used car. Long story, company cars etc. Anyway I want to buy something nearly new. I've picked out a car, say a 2008 focus, from a dealer (supermarket type place) online. You can view its spec online, photos etc. -

Approved Used Cars 20 Sep 2013 (Forum)
Hi, I've seen an approved used car for sale on the mazda official website, which exactly fits the spec I am looking for. Unfortunately it is 4 hours drive away. I've previously only ever bought cars from independent traders, and in those circumstances I've obviously always ensured that I can drive and closely inspect the car prior to making a decision on purchasing. -

Car Choice - Your Opinions 4 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Ideally do not want to spend more than £11k 4. Like to change cars regularly. I could either by a £11k dealer warrantied car and keep for a year or save and buy something more expensive and keep for 3+ years!
