Missan Micra (55 plate) - Failed Power steering 27 Jun 2012 (Forum)
However, Nissan say they are unable to perform the reprogramming as it's not a 'genuine' (ie new) part. My questions are: - Is it likely that the new ECU will suddenly decide not to work one day because it's not been reprogrammed? - If it is, is there any way I can get the ECU reprogrammed so that I don't have to pay the £1018+VAT Nissan want for a 'genuine' part? -

Peugeot 308 2.0 Bluehdi 2016 - Weird values from ECU 19 Jul 2023 (Forum)

Honda Civic - Honda 2.2 Diesel ECU's faulty? 18 Jun 2013 (Forum)
The first 2 are fairly cheap to fix (if you call £150 +VAT and labour cheap) and apparently Honda have issued a Service Bulletin about these and there are "uprated" parts to be fitted at the next service. The third of these faults was/is the ECU. The garage in question has spoken to the local Honda dealer who has said that it appears that this in an inherant fault with certain ECU's on this engine and it is only now becoming apparent. -
Renault Clio1.2 2002 - ecu and glow light comes on and cuts out 9 Mar 2013 (Forum)
the engine runs as if the idle control valve isnt working or the lamda sensor has gone as it starts to hunt irratcatically before the glow light ecu light comes on?. i am very handy at mechanical work but this is something i cant work out so i am looking for a little bit of knowledge to resolve this problem.i have changed the wiring loom attatched to the ecu which is connected to the injectors, crankshaft ,throttle body annd coil pack. -
peugeot 306 glx petrol 1.6 1997 - 306 glx petrol starting fault ecu immobiliser 31 Jan 2011 (Forum)
ive had an auto electrican around with his laptop, joined it up, it did not display a fault, there is fuel being pumped. he messed around for a while, and strongly thought that it is the ecu. could it be anything else. i have the ecu, but need him to fit it as its not obvious which immobiliser is with the car. it has no keypad it runs fine aside from this problem -
Vauxhall Vectra C (2002 - 2008) - 04 2.0 diesel injection pump ECU failure. 11 Dec 2010 (Forum)
My immediate thought is un printable since my mates in the trade are all telling me it actually will need a new pump and integral ECU which has to be coded to the car at an approximate cost of £1800 + Vat. In truth I don't want to spend anything like that at all so who can test these ECUs and repair them? I will dismantle and clean the EGR, apparently you can on these and as for the glow plugs, it starts first turn even in the cold so sorry main dealer I think you are pulling my chain. -
My Vauxhall Vectra automatic is creeping forward at tickover - what's wrong with it? 29 Aug 2010 (Ask HJ)
I've just bought a 2002 Vauxhall Vectra 1800 auto. The ECU light has just started to come on when driving and this has only happened after the last service.... -
Vauxhall Corsa C (2000 - 2006) - 02 1.2 ECU needs repairing 29 Jul 2009 (Forum)
First had the fault codes read by a local garage and they couldn't find anything (this was Tuesday) and they said that it was probably a fluke, and Tuesday nite, on attempting to go home from being out - I couldn't start the car again. Took the car to my local Vauxhall garage who have told me that the ECU is broken and that it will cost £841.98 to fix. Then they said the ECU could have damaged the clutch and that could need replacing at a cost of between £800 - £1100!!! but they won't know about the clutch until they put the new ECU in and road drive the car. -
skoda superb tdi 06 engine code bss - loss of 12v feed to egr valve 8 Aug 2014 (Forum)
The 2 reference voltages on this skoda both come via the ecu 1x5v & 1x12v we have the 5v feed but no 12v feed we have checked the wiring from the egr valve to the corresponding ecu pin no which would point to a ecu problem. Does any 1 know if we can hook up a 12v feed via ign on would work. -
Vauxhall Zafira A (1999 - 2005) - 2004 1.6 - Won't start, but no error codes on ecu 2 Oct 2013 (Forum)
It has been to our local independent garage as well as two Vauxhall main dealers and they can find nothing wrong. There was a lambda error on the ECU, but this should not stop it starting. Does anyone have any ideas? Cheers Adam slt -
Alfa Romeo 159 Sportwagon Qtronic (automatic) - brake switch ECU delay 11 May 2012 (Forum)
When moving off, I have always kept my foot on the footbrake just as you would with the handbrake on a hill start in a manual car. As we all know, whoever programs the ECU restricts the throttle until the brakes are off. On my car, it must check several times before the throttle responds and then there is the turbo delay. This results in a delay of a few seconds. -
Vauxhall Vectra Club - 99(T) X18-XE1 ECU problem. 30 Mar 2011 (Forum)
Put it in for a service and the guy ran some tests and found that there was no signaloutput from the ECU to cylinder 1, so in effect it is only firing on 3 cylinders. I've been told that it is possible to jump the signal from cylinder 3. I know older cars used a "lost spark" system with just two coils, but will this idea work on the car with its coil-per-cylinder arrangement? -

SEAT Toledo III (2005 - ) - 05 2.0 DSG gear box, mechatronic unit and ECU 9 Nov 2009 (Forum)
So I'm looking at putting in a replacement box from another car, however I've been told their of problems with this as Seat tie the gear box and the mechatronic unit to the ECU. And even if you replace all three you still may have problems. Can anyone shed any light on this. Thanks Gary -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 06 2.2 - Is the Mileage stored on the ECU? 23 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Does anyone know what happens to the Mileage if you change the Dashboard in a Mk3 Mondeo? Is the Mileage stored on the ECU? Will the car even start? The reason I ask is that I changed my dials, and I am not really happy with the look bit the needles are slightly damaged so was looking to replace the complete unit but don't want to go through Ford doing the work!
