  I was quoted by another local garage £160 fitted, so they put in a reconditioned one (with 12 months warrabty), which did not clear the battery light issue.  However, with the battery fully charged, the car drove fine, as soon as the battery drained, the car would shut down as described above.  We suspected the alternator that was put in was faulty and was replaced again under warranty.

  d get an engineer to look at it. They called back today to say that the fault was down to a faulty battery that caused the Engine Management Unit to fail ? they even said that the battery died completely shortly after I left the car. They argue that a failed cell in the battery meant that the EMU couldn?

  Hi All, My Fiesta yesterday encountered an interrmittent charging issue. I have a USB adapter in the car that has a digital battery voltage readout. I've also checked it with a DVM. It dropped down to 12.2v, which would be the batteries standing voltage, However, occasionally it gets up to 14.3 for a mile or two, then drops out again back to 12v approx.

  Is there anyway of testing if the DPF regeneration is still working on a 2015 X250 XFS? I've just had a new battery fitted and before and after fitting the battery, the mechanic plugged in an Autel scanner and the only fault code that came up was PO52F, a permanent fault with the Glow Plug Module System. He tested all the glow plugs and all were fine so he thinks that fitting a new Glow Plug Module will cure this fault.

  It seems rather sensible for an electric 'car' to be small and light rather than the raft of huge electric SUV's that need massive batteries for a decent range. What would be even better would be a small, light 2 seater convertible electric car with a smaller battery. I would definitely be tempted into an electric car then!

  I've done all the checks on the Purge Valve itself, and all seems to be working ok. Continuity - OK Resistance - 25 ohms Audible click when connected to a 9v battery No vacuum at idle when feed disconnected But when I checked the voltage at the Purge Valve connector, it reads 3.9 volts - Should it be reading battery voltage ?? It triggers the Check Engine light, which when erased, comes back on when engine is started.

  At the weekend I test drove a honda CRV diesel on a 16 plate low mileage, it was low on fuel with the light on with 2 mile on the trip computer so we went to get diesel but before we could put fuel in the limp home mode symbol came on but I didn't know what it was so when I drive away I quickly found out and had no power so we went back the the carstore had a chat and walked away but I have now had a phone call saying on there diagnostic equipment it said low fuel pressure and that they have put a new battery on aswell ,when I asked why the new battery the sales guy wasn't to sure but he will see if he can get a report explaining things a little better. What are your thoughts , would thus happen like this etc etc

  my friend has a 2013 1.0 ecotec corsa with 37.000 miles that failed to start the other morning. i thought it was the battery as it was very sluggish to start so tried jump starting. even though it was turning over really strong it wouldnt start. he desperatly needs the car got it towed to a garage who diagnosed a failed timing chain. i think the reason the battery was sliggish was because his good lady gave it a good few tries to start it up in the morning.

  my citireon was not running for 2 months, when i started battery was dad get a jump start, then its run ok for 1st,2,3,4,5 gear BUT the reverse gear did NOT function or work means the car went not reverse I heard it can be a Linkage gear problem can the oil others said can be the battery needs charge and swith it off & on personally if the gear 1 to 5 working ok the reverse gear its malfunctioning means can can not reverse.

  Restarted fine though. Sounds like an even bigger bag of spanners now though. Oil light came on and the battery light has been flickering on off for a few days. Im no mechanic, accelerator pedal isnt sticking, battery terminals all secure. Sounds like a possible sensor issue... Finding a garage with a diag machine for an LDV is proving difficult.
