• front disks at 80% need replacing?? 2 Nov 2006 (Forum)
  My wife's Scenic, just over 3 years old with 24k on the clock, the majority shortish journeys. Goes in for a service, with squeaky brakes - result new front disks and brakes down to 80%. Should they be safe for another year, or better safe than sorry and change them??

  Following an old Nissan Almera this morning, I noticed a sticker on the bumper which proclaimed 'WATCH OUT - for the idiot behind me'. Mmmm...I wondered, what sort of driver would put that on their car - then when they braked, I saw they only had one brake light working. Question answered!

    When I did, vacuum was back and all was well-ish again. I say well-ish as when I pumped the brakes there on the drive I could consume the vacuum after about 4-5 pumps, although it replenished very quickly.  When I tried again after a run, I was unable to consume the vacuum, constant pumping made no different.
