• Xantia Central Locking Fault 30 Mar 2003 (Forum)
  It is as if something somewhere is sending a signal to lock/deadlock through the wiring/electronics. Citroens said there was nothing wrong with the central locking control box or the alarm control box (they are linked) but that the fault must be somewhere in the wiring loom and said it could take days to trace, and so cost a lot.

  Any suggestions? I've had a Citroen ZX Volcane Turbo diesel for a few years. It's now done 200K, and for the first time I've had to put nearly half a litre of oil in between 6000 mile services. Fuel consumption is down to around 43 mpg, and it must be close to replacement time.

  Sooner or later im going to have to think about replacing my Citroen C5. My problem is this; i want an everyday kind of car but my number one consideration is comfort. I need comfy seats and a plush soft ride. Sporty handling is of no interest as ive got a 140bhp bike to get my kicks.

  This weeks Autocar reviews comfortable cars going back 40 years. They include the Citroen GS, Range Rover 2001, 2CV etc. But I am looking for a comfortable diesel car with no DPF .. After driving my partners Peugeot 207SW with 165 tyres i realised how uncomfortable my Audi A4 is and I long for a car which can take all the crashing and banging which we experience on todays British roads.

  REF DW & his 3008 Puretech 130 - Depending on the age of the car it might be due a software update for the engine ecu. There's has been a software update campaign for the older Puretech 130's that Peugeot / Citroen main dealers will carry out when you take the car in for a service / other work. Either ask your main dealer / UK customer service OR check your vin on Service Box as it will tell you if your car requires a main dealer visit.

  One other thing, economy could do with being about 40 plus to the gallon.   I nearly bought a Citroen ZX Turbo Diesel a few years back ,for it's fluent handling but went for a car with air. I still quite fancy one. Also, I  like a Punto Mk1 60SX having been impressed by a hire car, ditto Ford Ka.

  Thinking of changing my car for no reason other than i fancy a change . The two cars on my shopping list are a Citroen c2 vts 1.6 hdi 2007 , with 67000 miles on the clock @ £2300 . Or a Mitsubishi colt 3door 1.5 manual did 2007 with 84000 miles @£2195  My main goal is reliability , in the 3 years of my smart ownership all she has cost me is one road spring .

  I have considered a petrol 1.2 fiesta with LPG conversion fitted, but worried the petrol engine wouldn't last as long as the diesel. I have also looked at citroen c3 1.4hdi but reports of rust etc on here. I liked the high seating position of the yaris and wondered if anyone could suggest something similar with all the above considered for a max £3-3500
