Honda - Honda Accord Tourer 8 Aug 2008 (Forum)
Having got rid of the Smart forfour I have bought an ex lease Honda Accord tourer executive diesel and my first impressions are that it is a very nice car with all the toys except for one thing it does not have a fuel usage computer something I find strange on a car of this quality. Its very comfortable and quiet a very relaxed drive I have always had a bit of a down on Japanese cars but this is certainly nicer than my ex BMW 525 tourer but time will tell I suppose. -

Secret[s] Please of 'Smear Free' Car Hand Wash! 17 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Try as I do, I cannot seem to emulate the pristine finish on my black Mini when returned from a service by my local BMW dealer. I use copious amounts of clean water, from a clean plastic bucket, applied with a clean sponge, and removed with a clean chamois. I have even resorted to shampoo additives, but to no avail...still covered with smears! -
Motorbike Oil change?? 21 Mar 2008 (Forum)
Can anyone here help settle a lively discussion between me and a friend. He has a 1986 BMW K100 motorbike (dry clutch like a car) which he purchased second hand 3 years ago, to this day he has not changed the oil, the seller told him that it was fully synthetic and good for 10k miles. As my friend has yet to do 10k he reckons the oil does not need changing. -
70mph in 30mph zone and let off! 15 Feb 2008 (Forum)
I had to post this little story. Last Friday morning a friend of mine was driving to work in her BMW. As she left a 60mph zone to enter a 30mph zone she failed to notice a police car behind her, and that she was doing 70mph!!! They stopped her and had a long chat with her in the patrol car, saying that she was potentially looking at a ban. -
Buying "nearly new" 8 May 2007 (Forum)
Checking the main dealers sites a two year old mini seem near enough the price of a new one, allowing for the price of the "extras". A one series BMW cost less when two years old! Logically one sells privately and then negotiates. Any suggestions for a replacement for a trendy 26 year old who has ideas above her station.....??!! TVMIA Meldrew -
Watch out for Vandals in Sandhurst area 30 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Tonight I take SWMBO to M&S for a bit of retail therapy and some nasty scrote has painted a rude word on the boot lid of a beautiful blue 07 BMW 325d Coupe. I did report it but as I did not witness anything I suppose there is nothing to be done. This is in the car park at The Meadows Tesco and Marks and Spencer near Camberley/Sandhurst, Surrey - BE WARNED and BE CAREFUL -
Perfect Mid Life Crisis Cars! 28 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Or cars that shout out "I have a possible Mid life crisis occupant" before you even see whos inside... I was looking through some reviews and saw the description of the BMW Z3/Z4 being a perfect mid life crisis car!! Again this could well be true since by the time an average person like me saves enough to buy one,I would possibly be well and truely be rattling and creaking! -
4WD + ESP = Maximum stability? 4 Nov 2006 (Forum)
Being an average driver, and not a particularly knowledgeable one at that, it seems to me that a car with 4WD and that stability system thingy must be the safest option if you just want to get from A to B with the minimum risk and excitement (by 'excitement', I mean things like your back end slipping away, deliberately or otherwise). Am I right? Or are there other factors which would make, say, a BMW safer than a Honda Accord, or a FWD Audi safer than a Subaru? -- Stevie Lakland 44-02 Sunburst Yamaha YTS-23 -
Laptop Theft 14 Sep 2006 (Forum)
The cover was across the boot so nothing could be seen - and it's not the sort of car a laptop user has - not the BMW 120 next to it and the Boxster opposite. They knew - but how? The computer was off - so no Bluetooth, no WiFi etc. The only thing I can think of is the battery for the clock - but surely that's a bit high tech for your average car thief? -
A500 Crewe / Nantwich bypass 29 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Virtually every time I use it I see the remains of single car accidents, usually involving lamp posts near to the 3 roundabouts that are too small for a 70MPH stretch of road, what were the planners thinking? In the last month or so I've seen a BMW Cabriolet, an MGTF and today an Xtype Jag, all in day light. Then in the evening the boy racers arrive, I'm amazed there are'nt more deaths on this road -
So do you know all about.... 1 Jul 2006 (Forum)
Firstly the person in a clio complaining about glare from cars behind ......who had always wondered what that lever was on the rear-view mirror .... arghhhh. Secondly the chap in his BMW who was constantly fiddling with the speed limiter cos he didn't want to get a speed ticket (had 6 points from one camera) and manually took it out of speed when needed, rather than touching the accelerator. -
Tyres - Profit? 15 Mar 2006 (Forum)
Good afternoon Chaps! (and ladies) I took my gaffers BMW 330ci into kwik Fit for him to get two new rear tyres for the beast, they did the job then gave me the receipt as its charged to our company. I was amazed at the price!! £424 for two tyres, I know they are pretty big 255/45/18 but its seems very steep to me?? -

Auction prices in the new year.. 22 Dec 2005 (Forum)
Hey guys... If I bought from a BCA auction, how much BMW 5 Series is less than £10k (the less the better!) likely to get me? I want a car in exceptional condition with FSH and leather, but mileage is not a concern. If anything I would prefer a 100k mile car becuase at least I know I'm not paying a premium for low mileage... -
USA & Volvos 27 Oct 2005 (Forum)
I have just spent a week in New England and was surprised to see how many Volvo 240 and 740 cars existed. Most seemed in excellent condition but I suppose being Volvos they would be. A few BMW's seen but hardly any Mercs. One note of caution to those travelling in the USA and need to use the phones to the UK. My first call, I had to use a credit card, cost = $32.00; time = 5 mins. Ouch. The second time I used coins, cost $1.50; time = 4 mins. -

Honda Ads 10 Jun 2005 (Forum)
I only ever saw it once, during the football match break. They should get rid of their Marketing people and hire the same firms as the Germans, the BMW Martketing people in particular do amazing ads. Does anyone agree? -

Dealers Gossip Network 30 Dec 2004 (Forum)
In June this year I PX'd my BMW Compact for another new car. I took a few weeks to make a decision, deciding what I fancied in exchange and trying to get the best possible PX. One dealer told me that my car was getting a reputation because dealers put the px car into a database for other dealers to see who may be interested in putting in a bid for it.
