  • 05 Renault Espace 1.9 tdi - error messages after brake replacement 18 Jul 2012 (Forum)
It is bringing up a constant string of error messages for parts of the car which have not even been touched during this job (E.g. Air Bags) Last time we had such a display of errors it was due to a flat battery. We have now fully charged the battery and still have the same problem. Can anyone help us? We are due to go on holiday on 4 days and need the car to get us there! Is there a reset code or something that we need to enter after disconnecting the automatic parking brake?

The battery is a Yuasa and is only 2 years old so I don;t think that's faulty. I've checked all the fuses that are mentioned in the Haynes PAS wiring diagram and they seem fine too. I've got an OBDII connector but can't find the socket to read the codes, any ideas??

  • Megane Renault Hatchback (10 yrs + old, good cond) - Small Electrical fault? Just cuts out. 25 Mar 2011 (Forum)
VERY pleased with my sec hand Megane (in France) Dont know why the engine cuts out sometimes. Does anyone have any ideas? It goes perfectly all the while. The Battery stays fully charged. Last time it cut out, was when I went over a bump. I carry a second battery, & it starts every time when connected - and continues trouble free till the next cut out.
  • Clio 1.2 grande - Problem starting 20 Mar 2011 (Forum)
Hi I've had my Clio for 5 months never had any starting problems until recently. I changed the battery in the key fob it worked for a week then suddenly the engine turned over but kept cutting out as the immobiliser light kept flashing. I disconnected the battery and this semi-solved the problem. I had to attempt 3 times before the car would start but then it drove perfectly.

  • Renault Megane (1996 - 1998) - 97 1.6 starting problems 9 Feb 2010 (Forum)
i'm having intermittent starting problems. it will start first time in the mornings. but after a good run i get problems that resemble starter motor issues. all the dashboard lights come on but nothing from the starter, not even the usual click!!! after a little while, maybe 30 mins it will start perfectly. i've had the battery checked and it is fine, both standing and under load. i've read on another forum that it could be the main connection from the battery to the starter motor. i've spoken to a couple of garages about changing the connection but they dont want to touch it unless they change the starter motor!!
  • Audi A6 (2004 - 2009) - 2004 3.0tdi Electrical Gremlins 7 Dec 2008 (Forum)
I have a 2004 (newer shape) A6 3.0 tdi SE Quattro. A few days ago it showed "battery level low" in the tv screen, looked at the graph and it was at about 5%, but the car started fine, the level has not moved it 3 days, the car is driven 150+ miles a day (mostly motorway). The battery voltage looks ok, and seems to be charging.

  • Ford Escort (1993 - 2000) - 1998 1.8TD Glow plug warning light 23 Jan 2008 (Forum)
for nearly 10 months the orange glow plug warning light on the dashboard has been intermittently flickering on and off whilst driving. sometimes it lights up and stays on for a while and other times it justs illuminates for a few seconds. on 2 occasions it has attempted to light up, though very weakly when attemptng to start the car but at the first attempt the engine won't turn over, but turning the ignition off and on again enabled the engine to start. new glow plugs were fitted a year ago and a new battery was installed november 2007, after replacing the battery the fault stopped for aroud 2 weeks then re-appeared. any help greatly appreciated. also, passenger electric window will not work, any suggestions?

We are unsure what this could be.... poss alternator/battery... faulty earth??
  • Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - V Reg HDi - Electrical problems 6 Dec 2007 (Forum)
The rear wiper has always been temperamental, sometimes it does a full sweep, sometimes not but it?s never been a really huge problem. Over the weekend, she put on the rear wiper and the battery light came illuminated on the dash. She thought nothing of it and carried on. When she started the car the battery light had gone out again however now the back wiper has stopped working completely, her clock and exterior temp display no longer illuminate and her electric windows no longer work.
  • VW Polo starting problem 15 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Couple of months ago the starter motor started playing up so I got another one from scrapyard from a VW Golf fitted it and the car started without any problem. Then few days ago the battery went totally flat and had to jump start the car. So I went and bought a new battery and then everything was back to normal. Now yesterday the same thing happend. Car started twice without any problem but when I was going to start it the third time it didn't start up and jump starting worked without any problem.
  • Helpful Main Dealer - Shock 5 Dec 2006 (Forum)
The Peugeot barely turned over on the starter and wouldn't start yesterday morning. The logical thing to do was to think about the battery and maybe charge it up. Before anything else I knew that one day I'd need the radio code if and when the battery was disconnected and unfortunately I didn't get it when I bought the car. The 10 year old car had always been serviced at the same main dealer before I bought it last August and I thought I might just call them hoping they might give me the code number after a visit and a few pounds changing hands.
