  Can any one tell me how to obtain EKA code for a rover 400 1.4 1995 or can any one tell me how to match a new ecu to the alarm immobiliser ECU i have a scanner can i use that to read the ecu's Ps i have been told i can obtain the eka code from the cars log book can any one tell me how to do that Many Thanks John

  Anyone considered getting their car's ECU re-mapped by places such as 'super chips' to give better performance/fuel economy etc? Are the benefits really as good as the companies would have us believe? For my 2.4 Audi I can expect a boost of 12bhp for approx £300 - quite keen but any feedback from people who have had this done would be much appreciated.

  Now, I know I'll need to prise the security code out of my local Opel dealership but are there any other pitfalls in swapping the thing I should look out for? Is the keychip/immobiliser pairing also the province of the C/L ECU or is this held elsewhere?

  I am in the midst of a "Minimum Fuel Additive Level" situation now and the dealer's dignostic report has many faults including the Fuel Cap Sensor and Fuel Additive ECU. Since there are so many faults I suspect a wiring / connector problem. Can anyone tell me where the Additive ECU is located? I would like to check out the connector and also check the fuel cap sensor at that end of cable.

  Having had to change the ECU on the car approx 6months ago, it's showing the same symptoms once again. On attempting to start the car from cold, it is turning over a number of times before eventually struggling to start. Then once started, it will struggle once or twice before running as normal, ticking over fine.

  Local VW dealer and local independent unable to diagnose despite having all the fancy gear. Owner has found that if he unplugs and replaces the plug to the ECU, vehicle will restart immediately. ECU is Siemens 5WP4-256 ( 037-906-125R ) Does this ECU have some form of immobilizer circuit that may be mall functioning and is it safe to do a substitution test with an identical ECU from a near identical vehicle ?

  Hi, after a main dealer ecu update the performance has dropped off alarmingly and the drive is very disappointing compared to previously.Max torque before was from 1800 to 2000 rpm, I don't know where it is now for there is no 'wow' acceleration factor.

  Just had my 1998 Ford Focus towed to the Ford Dealers by the RAC as the immobiliser is frozen on and all the codes lost in the key and ECU unit. Radio display says "CODE --------". Any ideas how much it will cost to have it all reset and a new key? Also, is it a big job as I need my car more than my wife, lol. Fed up!! Any help much appreciated.

  Hi all new to this, i have a vectra 2.0 petrol 1999 t reg, Having some problems ecu light on all the time idle poor and only revving to 4500rpm, have done the paper clip trick and have a number of codes, camshaft sensor, intake air temp sensor and Hego oxygen sensor can anyone advice on this as i am having a right nightmare with it.

  I booked the car into our local Peugeot dealer who have just called me to advise that the car needs a new ABS ECU at a cost of £ 490.- plus labour and VAT. It's going to cost the best part of £ 700.-. I'm stunned. Do I have an option on this or have Peugeot got me "over a barrel". Any comments would be much appreciated.

  After 4.5hrs he goes back to the laptop and its frozen! Has anyone been able to reprogramme an ecu using OPCOM? I read somewhere that an ecu has to be 'unpaired' from the donor car prior to refitting on another. Can anyone help, are we trying to solve a problem that isn't solvable with OPCOM? He's getting desperate so any advice, pointers or step by step guides (!)

  Also sometimes it is reluctant to start from cold, it starts but it's like it's not getting the cold start enrichment (?) Now I've heard talk of problems with some early Focus ECUs, can anyone shed any light on this and give any pointers so that I can get it fixed. Thanks Very much Bobby
