Thanks for all the help on my other posts , some of the advice has led to my car problems being fixed.I got a few minor problems below: Problem 1 I noticed ever since I purchased the vehicle the clock on the dash resets itself to 12.00 when engine is shut off. The current battery in the car is old may even be the original battery as it looks old and rusted and testing it using a volt meter gives a 12.4 reading with ignition off in the morning .two garages did free battery tests using their advanced devices and they both said it is on its way out, hence I will be replacing this battery.The trip which shows the journey mileage does not reset it self like the clock when engine is switched off. does anyone have any ideas whether it is the battery causing the clock to reset itself or something else like a fuse or something? -

I've followed the instructions to the letter, but something odd happened, and now I'm struggling. I took the lid off the alarm box, and removed the internal battery. I then removed the inline fuse from the live feed. So far so good. I located the two green tagged "loop wires" (not used on this bike, and taped up separately). I then joined them using a block connector, and ran a wire from this block connector to the battery +ve terminal. -

That the problem is so unpredictable is more of a pain than anything else - it means my wife is scared to take the kids out in it. It was later decided that this was because this warning light meant that the alternator was no longer charging the battery and that the engine was running solely off the battery- hence the inevitable break down shortly after the light came on because the battery was completely flat. This light did occasionally go out of its own accord before the car broke down. -

Power to the ignition switch is good, as is continuity through the switch I'm getting 12 volts at PIN 3 of the 5-way plug in connector to the preheat relay, only 9.5 volts to PIN 4 when cranking.. (Both those come from the ignition switch) I'm getting battery voltage across the two eyelet connectors to the relay which are the power in from the battery and power out to the glow plugs. I'm getting 10.5 - 11 volts at each of the glow plugs, and my test bulb lights when I connect it between the feed wire to the glow plugs and plug 2. -
