Pug 405 Oil Leak from engine mount 22 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Crankcase pressure DOES seem a little high, but all accessible breathers have been checked and are clear. The car has never used any oil between changes, and I have always used Mobil 1. I have run the car for the last 4 years (bought with 99k, now on 126k & FSH before then), without it missing a beat. Does anybody have any suggestions? -

Mazda 3 - Mazda3 2.2 Diesel 1st Gear pull away judder 27 Apr 2022 (Forum)
The car has only covered 47k (full Mazda SH) and is in good nick to be fair. I am experiencing a strange judder when pulling away in 1st gear; which seems to be less severe if I pick the revs up a little than I normally would. -
Audi A3 - On line car insurance 11 Aug 2017 (Forum)
Buying car insurance via a price comparison site is getting more and more like buying an airline ticket at peak time! Got my hard copy renewal this week with a 30% hike on last years premium-so hit the usual price comparison websites finding competitive cover ( same level as mine) for 20% less than 2016/7 premium. -

Ford Focus Mk 2 - Handbrake cable aftermath 30 Sep 2016 (Forum)
It was a job that I considered doing myself, but we live on a steep hill so getting underneath the car for any length of time is decidedly ropey. Time maybe to put that driveway in. Got the car back, eventually (because the job was meant to be done yesterday but only the rear cables turned up from the supplier so it had to be rescheduled for today), took it home and found that the plastic handbrake cover was sitting loose on the console, the lugs underneath the cover having been broken clean off when it was removed by what must have been brute force. -
Adelaide Insurance for holders of LGV/PCV licences 8 Feb 2014 (Forum)
That was with £100 excess and myself and my wife on the policy and includes legal protection, no claims protection, foreign cover and key cover. A very good deal. I changed my car last week for a more powerful Ford Mondeo and it cost me only £26.50 of which £16.50 was their standard admin fee. None of us like to pay admin fees but their £16.50 is a lot fairer than the £55 my wifes last insurers were looking for. -
Lent car to uninsured friend who had an accident 2 Nov 2013 (Forum)
A while back I lent a car to a friend of mine. He had told me that he had cover to drive other vehicles, but this turned out not to be the case. Unfortunately he got involved in an accident (not entirely his fault as far as I've been able to ascertain, for what it's worth). -
2005 Volkswagen Polo 1.2 (9N) - Help with Water Leak 30 Jul 2013 (Forum)
The car doesn't have air con or a sunroof, and the leak is too high to be the matrix. It only affects the passenger footwell too. Surely it has to be the drain holes below the windscreen? The windscreen was the only part of the car where I poured water. -
Ford Fiesta - Can't get into the car 6 Apr 2011 (Forum)
I decided to remove the door trim to have a look at the lock to see if it was easy to sort, after half an hour of trying to work out how to the get the trim off, i managed to remove the inside door handle thingy (unplugging the power from the speaker), the metal covering the wing mirror, window winder, still couldn't get the trim off, unclipped it but it wouldn't come out of the top. Lifted up the trim and saw that there is a plastic sheet covering the door so gave it up. -
Ford KA, KA2, KA3 - Ford Ka really low MPG 22 Mar 2010 (Forum)
i have recently covered about 76 miles in my car and it seems to have used about 15 litres of fuel for this, which works out around 20-25 MPG. My car is a 2008 Ka 1.3 Style climate with the Duratec 69 hP engine, so it should be averaging 35-40 MPG. admittedly it was a mixture of city/a road driving, quite a bit of braking involved, but surely 20-25 is very low? -
Autoaid 16 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Very straightforward journey back home, and then unloads my car outside the house, and as I get my card out ready to pay him, he gets in his lorry and drives off (I had already signed the sheet before he unloaded the car). Now this is the third time ever that I've had to use my autoaid cover in the last 10 years, first time I had to pay, but the last 2 times the drivers haven't asked for any money from me - which was what I thought Autoaid was all about! -
New Car Time (again!!) 13 Oct 2006 (Forum)
After your quality advice last time around, I opted for an Accord i-CDTI in sport trim, which has been pretty good. Delivered at the end of March this year, it's now covered just over 35,000 miles with no issues to report, other than rubbish paint quality. Anyone looking to cover serious miles should give one a look! However, a bolt from the blue email came through on Monday this week, offering me a new job....and a new car!
