Xantia Auto Gearbox Problem 6 Dec 2006 (Forum)
It starts fine, suspension lifts to normal height fine BUT it always sticks in 1st gear for too long (in Drive) and will eventually drop into 2nd, then straight into 3rd as the revs have hit about 5000 and it sounds like the exhaust is gonna fall off! A Citroen dealer advised that the gearbox needs to be warmed up sufficiently before driving off, but even after wasting 10 mins sitting still, it still happens every day. Any ideas? -
Yaris Seat Belt Release 24 Nov 2006 (Forum)
I've tried spraying into the clasp with WD40 to get it to release without success. SWMBO went to the local garage (Citroen but used to be Toyota) and they are talking £50 + for a new clasp plus fitting and having to break the clasp to release. Anybody had this problem or any bright ideas as to how to release it before I shell out for a replacement. -

1.9TD XUD fuel filter draining 17 Jun 2006 (Forum)
Just been browsing the Haynes manual for my car (Citroen Xsara), and apparently I'm supposed to be regularly draining the fuel filter. Aha, says I, that's what that little hose is for. Now, according to the book, I unscrew the little valve and wait until diesel free of water emerges from the hose. -

Oil Consumption, new C3 16v HDi 17 May 2003 (Forum)
Any opinions on the following please: Our new Citroen C3 16v HDi diesel has done 1,000 miles and it has used approx 0.75 litres of oil. It has been driven snail-like as I want to build up the rpm slowly, I beleive this used to be called 'running-in'! -

I am thinking of changing my Citroen Xantia 1.8lx but need something capable of towing my touring caravan. I only use the caravan approx 4 times a year with the furtherest distance travelled being around 250 miles. Therefore i normally opt for petrol models rather than deisel for the better performance whilst not towing. -
Citroen Relay II, 2002-2006 (registered 2007) - Burning smell (clutch?), slow air suspension, etc 4 Sep 2023 (Forum)
I just got this camper van: https://www.quirkycampers.com/uk/for-sale/unleash-your-adventurous-spirit-with-our-custom-built-fully-off-grid-campervan-a-unique-wooden-haven/ It's a converted Citroen Relay II 1800 TD HDI MWB 2.8L with a tag axle, originally a mobile office for the police. It's 3.5t on the log book but the former owners said it's more like 4.3t fully loaded with travel gear. It's just passed its MOT with Citroen C4 Grand Picasso - Faults on recently purchased used car 13 Feb 2019 (Forum)
Yesterday I bought a used Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 2.0 I 16v VTR+ ESG petrol from a trader. It's an auto 07 plate and has just over 68,600 miles on the clock. Test drive was fine and the 70 mile drive home was also ok. This morning I went out and the car started fine but driving away it sounded a bit like a a motorbike when I pressed down the accelerator, with the noise stopping when I took my foot away. -
Citroen Berlingo Multispace 1.6 HDI 2010 - Starting&Throttle Issues. Main dealer can't fix it 5 Jun 2013 (Forum)
Good Afternoon Last resort for me now, should have come here first. I use a 2010 (new model) Citroen Berlingo Multispace as a taxi. Always fully serviced and only driven by myself. Its done 120,000 miles. The car has developed some very annoying faults that the main dealer simply don't have any clue as to the problem. -

Any car - I need clearance without the need for a 4x4 14 Dec 2020 (Forum)
I need some help here re a car that has some god clearance, everything here is rust free but costs about 2/3 times the price. So if it’s an older car that would be great. Any - Electrical faults in cars rise sharply in 5 years 18 Mar 2014 (Forum)
Renault lived up to the bar-room wisdom that 'French cars are terrible for electrics' by being the least reliable manufacturer in terms of electrical problems. However, Citroens proved more reliable than teutonic titans Audi, Mercedes and Porsche, and was as reliable as BMW. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/news/10699415/Complex-car-electronics-spark-rise-in-breakdowns.html -
Peugeot 406 '03 reg - Slow to start 11 Dec 2012 (Forum)
The engine turns over without issue but is just slow to fire, maybe 5-6 seconds, sometimes longer. My wife's car is a Citroen with the same HDI engine and fires within 2 seconds every time no matter how cold. I apologise for my ignorance. Thanks, Mick -

Now the nights are drawing in...... 25 Oct 2009 (Forum)
6 months ago i traded in my trusty Citroen Picasso for a new Kia Cee'd. Whilst the Cee'd has turned out to be a very good car, now it's dark by the time i get home, i have noticed that there were 2 small, but useful features on the Picasso that are not on the Cee'd which i miss.
