  • BerlingoBerlingo - Citroen steering knock 1 Apr 2014 (Forum)
***The knock can also be simulated by rocking the van hard from side to side with the engine off and the wheels in a straight ahead position. ***April 1st 2014 - Went to a Citroen dealer today who checked it out and said I need a new rack, as they said the rack is what's knocking! I told them I'd only just had a new one fitted! Their diagnosis seems very odd to me, especially when the original rack which was replaced had nothing wrong/no play in it.
  • Throttle Hesitation in Xsara HDi 22 Mar 2013 (Forum)
When the problem happens, the engine management light on the dashboard remains off. The vehicle was checked three times by a Citroen garage but no error codes are being logged . One other thing is that the cars overall performance in terms of acceleration seems to be down slightly. At this stage, I've lost all confidence with the Citroen dealer and my patience is rapidly running out with the national importer.

  • Nissan Note - Air Con Issue 19 May 2022 (Forum)
I'm concerned that if we have it re-gassed that may not work as there could be a fault or leak in the air con system. This happened to us once with a Citroen which lost the gas overnight. Is there any way of telling if the air con system is ok and a re-gas will work? Many thanks.

  • All - How many car diesel engine manufacturers? 16 Oct 2013 (Forum)
How many manufacturers are there of these 4 sizes. Do Audi, Renault/Nissan, Mercedes, BMW, Citroen/Peugeot, Fiat, Ford, Jaguar/Land Rover, VW/Seat, Honda, Chrysler, Toyota, Hyundai etc all make their own?   If not, from whom do they buy the engine?
  • Any - Car for Daughter 1 Oct 2013 (Forum)
She has a three year old son so a five door is essential. She wants something very small and seems set on either a Peugeot 107 or a Citroen C1. She will be doing some motorway driving so needs an engine suitable for this. Her budget is around £5k. I am pretty unfamiliar with both of these cars so would be grateful for any advice.
  • any - Raised suspension and economy 20 Mar 2013 (Forum)
Ideally I am looking for something with a raised suspension that can cope with this road plus I drive about 20 k miles per year for work.  Looking for something cheap to buy and run.  Currently have a citroen berlingo that just cant cope with the farm road.
  • What are the top 10 cars for rear leg room space? 21 Nov 2012 (Forum)
I know the skoda superb is highly rated (84cm), the citroen berlingo/peugeot partner is the best rear leg room in the mpv van come car market (74 cm). I also understand the mondeo is one of the best as well (78 cm) and the nissan note is meant to be the best small car for rear leg room (74 cm).

  • Vauxhall Combo/Fiat Doblo - Road Testing 11 Jan 2012 (Forum)
Why do they try to fool us that one is better than the other, do they get backhanders ? The same with the Suzuki Alto/Nissan model, and such as the Peugoet/Fiat/Citroen van range also the older Ford Fiesta/Mazda.

  • Electric parking brakes and the driving test 3 Nov 2009 (Forum)
I'm sure I have read somewhere that an 'L' driver cannot take the DSA driving test in a car fitted with an 'automatic release' electric parking brake (eg some Renaults, Citroens, etc) because of the way in which these brakes simplify a hill start. You just press the pedal and go. I can find no reference to this on the DSA website, however. Can anyone confirm this please -- if it is so, I would apreciate chapter and verse.
  • Nissan Primastar 9-seater (2006 - ) - HDI/TDI 8 Aug 2009 (Forum)
Ive been recently interested in purchasing a van or my kayaks. Its between a Citroen Relay 2.0HDI or a Nissan Primastar 1.9TDI My basic question is what is the fuel consumption for a HDI vs TDI as in does the TDI burn more fuel than the HDI or the other way around. Sorry for the silly questions I just dont know and have been recommend to ask here.
  • Peugeot 107 (2005 - ) - Mis-shapes 15 Oct 2007 (Forum)
I think I've come across a motoring equivalent of the chocolate mis-shape, whereby Cadbury's etc will flog off product cheaply other than through their normal outlets and often in unmarked bags when it does not quite fit the intended specification. I rented a Peugeot 107 recently and it was painted in Citroen's Damas blue. I assume this was a computer glitch or human error on their common production line and perhaps the rental company got it cheap as a result.
  • Replacement Berlingo/Partner? 29 Aug 2007 (Forum)
They had no explanation as to why it had been rechipped to give only 90 as against 110bhp which is its usual power output in other models in the Citroen/Peugot range. Is this actually a run-out sales deal from Peugot in advance of a new model??
  • I Have a Question - Volume 189 12 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Unclipping the screw covers on the outside sets off the tamper alarm, and presumably if I did keep going and disconnect the siren, it will go off of its own accord (assuming the internal battery is still any good....). -- RichardW Is it illogical? It must be Citroen....
  • Berlingo brake pedal 6 May 2007 (Forum)
Citroen Berlingo Multispace 1.6 HDI 92BHP has the worst control pedal of any car I have driven. At rest the brake is level with the accelerator, which has a thick plastic operating arm which is offset towards the brake.
  • Best way to insure a new driver 13 Mar 2007 (Forum)
My 18 year old son has just passed his test (yesterday) and is desperate to start driving an elderly Citroen AX valued at about £350. I am of the opinion that he should insure it himself and he has had a best quote of about £1600. What I don't want to do is have him as a named driver on my policy and risk my NCB What have other backroomers done?
  • Best car for speed bumps 10 Nov 2006 (Forum)
According to an item shown on last night's Fifth Gear, the best car to be in when going over speed bumps is a Citroen Xantia. Specifically they tested the amount of movement experienced by the driver when going over a Bedfordshire standard speed bump at various speeds in a Mark 5 Golf, a Porsche Cayenne and a N reg Xantia they'd bought off Ebay for £650.
