  There is also a Merc with the plate D1 SCO, another car (I forget the make) driven by a dishy blonde girl with the plate 50 FAT. I wonder if Disco belongs to Steve Penk the Capital radio DJ who lives locally? Other "stars" who live in the area include: Mike Yarwood also was seen regularly in a Rolls. Michael Aspel drives a Merc and has lunch at the Swan on Manor Road almost daily.

  Main problem I have is that the company concerned is in Kirkcaldy, Scotland and I'm in Coventry, otherwise if more local I would be making a person visit to get my property and money back. Previously I received some very good legal advise regarding a faukty car radio from a member here, ROBJP, who I pleased to hear from again over this new matter.

  LOL. basically i got this stereo set up yesterday, everything working fine except that when the car is turned off it forgets all the settings i set.. which meant the radio wasnt getting constant power when the car is off. to locate that i took the wires and started plugging them into other random wires, the wire i was connecting was the yellow wire from the stereo, ground is connected, well i look on my dashboard and the light for the airbag is on, i get worried and put the wires back where they are meant to be. and start the car, the car starts. headlights turn on themselves, wipers are also running. i try turn them off but nothing happens its automatically doing those, i turn the car off and these turn off, i try to start the car again and it wont start. the battery is fine and has the power to turn the car on, the starter turns, the car cranks but just wont start. i need a solution to this problem ASAP please, any help would be appreciated.

  Hi I have seen this problem before but not really seen a satisfactory answer so please can someone help!! The car wont start, central locking fine, doors open on keys, ignition powers up, radio lights, etc everything works, but turn the key and nothing, the starter motor does not turn over ( seems to be a light click / ticking? In passenger compartment) the battery is good, fully charged and no current drop) I've checked fuses ( think it's the 2x 10 amp in fuse box in engine compartment, in fact checked all fuses and they seem ok with AVO meter!)

  The garage i bought it from had recently serviced the vehicle and although it may not be connected i have noticed that the radio says SAFE on the screen when u turn it on implying the battery has been disconnected at some point. Should also point out before anyone is kind enough to reply that i am a car novice so please could i respectfully ask that you reply in simpletons language, Many Thanks

  The car had been running fine and then  as I accelerated from the lights the car revs seemed to go way up and then I heard a whining noise, the car lost power and then died on me. I have been unable to start it since. When I turn the key the radio and windows etc still come on but the ignition  just makes a clicking sound. Previously there have been a couple of times when the car would not start but as these were random incidents split by months I put it down to the frosty weather and a low battery.

  What I would like to do is transplant a (readers' recommended) decent alternative with as little fuss as possible. Unlike radios and add-on lights, I've never found anywhere to actually "try before you buy", and I would like to make a straight swap for a horn that sounds "serious", perhaps a tad imperious, but it doesn't have to be ear-splitting to the point of shattering street lamps or inducing heart attacks.

  http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb270/jaseuk/DSCF1658-1.jpg The garage have said that they didn't do it whilst checking the plugs (or when they changed the plugs last week during a service) and that all it does is stop interference affecting the radio.  It went back to garage as the engine light started flashing with rough/lumpy running when putting any strain on the engine.  Unfortunately the problem had 'fixed itself' by the time I got to the garage and nothing came up on the diagnostic.

  This has been happening since I bought the car about 3 1/2 years ago and still does it after having replaced the alternator after it failed recently but, was hoping, it has not change the flickering problem. Is there a regulator for the radio/Sony and or dash illuminations? Usual solution is to turn it off.  Help! 
• Ford Focus - Focus battery warning light 5 Feb 2012 (Forum)
  A couple of times I have seen the light come on as I'm braking at lights. The revs drop but it doesn't cut out entirely. Also, my radio and odometer backlights flicker and dim when the headlights are on. This seems to get worse the longer I have been driving. Given that I've had the alternator replaced twice, I'm assuming that the new (120 amp) one is on the way out too.

    Turned engine off and tried to turn it over again and there was nothing.  There was no turn over from the engine at all.  The lights, radio and other electrics were all working. Called out my break down company.  Mechanic checked the battery - Nil problems.  He disconnected the battery and plugged back in and it worked.
• Citroen C3 - Central Locking Fault 27 Mar 2010 (Forum)
  The AA mentioned going to citroen and getting them to have a look, as he says it could be the acutual central locking motor has gone caput, or its and ECU fault. he seems to think that its is related to the radio as we have had the simular problems before.   Any ideas anybody before she commits herself at citroens will?   thanks  michael

  My new car has a built in Bluetooth connection from my phone to the radio. Quite brilliant to be able to speak and hear as if the other party was in the car. Up until now I've used the Lt Uhura earpiece thingy with my phone mounted on a cradle. However, the only time I need to touch my phone now is to make a call to a number which is not stored in the memory of the car.

  Hi All, A Few weeks ago, I have bought a nearly new Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec (registered on 09 March) with this unit integrated (Communications Pack (Advanced Navigation System with Radio/CD) with Bluetooth and USB 5" colour display, 6 speakers, SD memory card slot for data (e.g. music) exchange; navigation data on SD card and CD, Bluetooth and USB). In the Handbook (8M2J-19C 104-DA 05/08) there are 9 audio units displayed on page 4,5 but none represents the one in my car and there is no indication of any model/name anywhere on the unit. 1.Does anyone know what it is and how to find a correct manual?

  Considering it only happens 1/100 times. 2. Can anyone explain why its so intermitant. Could it be radio interfernce between the tranponder or something? I have no idea how it works. Basically Im afriad of taking it back, and them fobbing me off.

  I know the timing chain is a bit rattly and it's on the things to do list. My really urgent problem is that the car ran fine until I left the radio on while working on it for the MOT and the battery ran flat. I charged it the next day. It is now running like a bag of bolts. There is a distinct dip in power when starting off almost to the point of it stalling if you do not keep the revs up and it now sounds like my blinking diesel Vectra.

  Now, you might call me biased against Volvos (having been run over by one in the past), but I hope you'll forgive me if I have a rant about the latest Volvo advert on the radio. It's the one with the guy who gets a phone call while he's at the airport, and the first thing he does is launch into a monologue about how wonderful his XC90 is, until the caller asks how much it costs - at which point he gets all evasive and pretends his flight is taking off.
