Auction report, St. G-Hill, X5s, & Reg Nos. - G Hall
In the St Georges Hill/Ashley Park/Burwood Park areas of Walton/Weybridge, you can see a BMW X5 driven proudly with the number plate X55 NOB with the lettering arranged to read X5 SNOB !

There is also a Merc with the plate D1 SCO, another car (I forget the make) driven by a dishy blonde girl with the plate 50 FAT. I wonder if Disco belongs to Steve Penk the Capital radio DJ who lives locally?

Other "stars" who live in the area include:
Mike Yarwood also was seen regularly in a Rolls.
Michael Aspel drives a Merc and has lunch at the Swan on Manor Road almost daily. Cliff Richard can be spotted regularly driving thru town. Simply Red's Mick Hucknall has yet to be spotted in his car.
Sir Geoff Hurst, and PR guru Max Clifford also live here.
Fiona Fullerton, who has now moved away used to have plate FF + no. on her Jag.

I'd thought Miss Fullerton used to have FU 2 on her car. I remember seeing it on an E-type on the M4 years ago but didn't catch who was driving. Presumably the DVLA wouldn't allow that type of thing out these days. Mind you for those who know a bit of Scots dialect and no doubt other local slang there are still a few suspect no's around and available. Best not go too deep into this.

Oops. Brain must be addled from a misspent youth. It was, of course, Fiona Richmond--an acress in films of a questionable nature--who had the FU 2 reg on her car. Apologies to Miss Fullerton whoever she may be.

I've never heard of this DJ either so what is the point of these 'celebrities' paying presumably lots of money for reg no's when it means little to anyone other than themselves and a limited number of obsessive fans?

Saw that on a parked Bentley about 20 years ago on Western Avenue one evening but hadn't made the connection. Who would dare drive a car with that reg?
