  • Peugeot 307 SW (2002 - 2008) - 02 2.0 FAP Regen Electrical Issues 11 Apr 2008 (Forum)
However when the relay clicks the head lights flicker briefly :( If I'm on the motorway the relay clicks and the lights flicker, this wouldn't be a problem if this just happened at the start of the regen process but the clicking continues many times whilst the regen is being carried out (probably for 12-30 miles). People have mentioned this maybe a battery issue which it maybe but before buying a new battery I'd like to get my mind clear why the relay would be clicking on and off a fair bit durring the regen and why in the past I never noticed it doing this.
  • Citroen Xsara Picasso (2000 - 2010) - 2002 1.8 - Lambda probes 31 Mar 2008 (Forum)
    - How long can I drive with such a problem before I damage the cat? - Can the ecu be reset (the fault canceled) by disconnecting the battery, or does it need doing via diagnostics? I'm having trouble getting this from the garage who originally looked at the car. - (if this is falls foul of forum rules, please ignore and accept my apologies) is there a good place to purchase the probes?
  • Isuzu - Tachograph - can anyone help? 1 Jan 2008 (Forum)
I have a 1999 Isuzu NQR 7.5 ton lorry fitted with a horsebox body, used for private transport of our horses and taxed as private HGV. To prevent the batteries going flat when not in use we have an isolator fitted. When the isolator is screwed in (to make the connection) the speedo needle on the tachograph slowly goes from 0 round to maximum and stays there.
  • Ford Fiesta (1989 - 1995) - 1993 1.1 - Starting Problems when Cold 29 Dec 2007 (Forum)
Engine turns over and you can hear it wants to go but won't catch and fire up even when I connect my jumpstart battery booster. Sometime if I leave it an hour it will start ok. Battery is good and spark is evident. When it does start it immediately ticks over and runs perfectly. If I tow it for a bump starts it starts ok and runs fine and seems to restart fine when the engine is warm.
  • Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 1.8 Zetec, engine cuts out when revs drop. 16 Sep 2007 (Forum)

  • '91 Peugeot 205 Gti Starting issue 22 Jul 2007 (Forum)
The starter does move, i put a screwdriver on the casing and tried to make sure the starter moved, the alternator moves but not much and that's it. It won't turn at all so i checked the battery, Brand new so no issues there, battery connections, brand new, immobiliser connections, all sound, engine earth, sound, 12v supply to starter, sound, fuse board (the fuses are fine and nothing smells) so I'm stumped!!
  • Parking sensors 16 Jun 2007 (Forum)
The inconsistency just never ?felt? like an intermittent connection. I started by thinking it might be battery voltage on the 6 year old battery but measurement disproved that. From previous experience I am aware that a covering of road grime can cause them to play up and always kept them clean. However, one sensor has a small paint chip about 3mm diameter.

3.When starting the car sometimes, the engine won't turn over and the dash clock resets itself, like it's a battery failure. If I try again it starts fine but the clock goes to all zeros and has to be reset. It usually happens after trying to restart the car after driving a considerable distance. Doesn't ever happen when trying to start the car first thing in the morning so I don't think it's the battery.
  • Breathing problem?! Golf Mk4 9 Feb 2006 (Forum)
I inspected the oil cap and found it coated with a creamy substance. I took the car to another garage to get a battery check but this is going to take about 5 hours, the garage guy said the battery may be flat or faulty. He had a look at this squashed pipe too and decided to take the complete throttle body pipe off.
  • Stag: indicators no longer flash 9 Jul 2005 (Forum)
The only other problem with the car is that the alternator dash-light has been lighting up recently when the engine is running (and not lighting up before cranking) - I have a new alternator on the way, just haven't received it yet. If the alternator is only partially charging the battery, and the battery is therefore weak does that manifest itself in a non-flashing flasher (amongst other things) ? Very annoying! And now the big one - the remote central locking is totally unresponsive. It's not the battery in the "plipper" as it's just had a new one apparently, but I often have to stand by the car like a fool waiting for it to sort itself out and let me in or lock. Ordinarily I would just use the key to lock and unlock but there is no option to do this - makes me wonder how I'd get into the car if the battery went flat and the central locking didn't work....??
  • Faulty alternator 1 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Last year the alternator on my '94 Nissan Primera had to be replaced for the first time, along with the battery. In April of this year after only 14 months wear and 12000 miles I started to experience problems with the battery light coming on. I took the car back to the garage. They took a while to diagnose the fault, after testing various electical items, and then concluded the fault was with the new alternator, which was promptly replaced and the owner of the garage returned the car saying he would try to claim for the cost under the warranty whilst it had failed so soon after the 12 months.
  • Priu$ Worse Than Hummer 22 Mar 2007 (Forum)
From there, the nickel hops over to China to produce ?nickel foam.? From there, it goes to Japan. Finally, the completed batteries are shipped to the United States, finalizing the around-the-world trip required to produce a single Prius battery. Are these not sounding less and less like environmentally sound cars and more like a farce?
  • MINI Coupe Cooper S - Rattles, Thumps, Squeaks and Bumps. 25 Mar 2014 (Forum)
They purport to be a premium brand but our experience contradicts this. After two days of battery died. Not a flat battery but a faulty battery which left us stranded. After a week the hatch was failing to close properly. After six weeks and 800 miles the wipers failed. Paintwork faults then found around the hatch edges.
  • audi a4 v6 - 2.5tdi v6 start issue after camshaft replacement 19 Oct 2013 (Forum)
could a new near £35 sensor be duff on purchase?? would this make a difference i wonder?.. battery seems ok 12.5v standing. 14v running and 10.3v during cranking. seems the same voltage during a 2 turn start as a 6/7 turn start mulitmenter stays obove 10v  when cranking so not wanting to spend £100 on a new battery just yet!
  • 1999 Chrysler Voyager 2.5TD,man trans - 1999 Voyager TD loose power at 1900rpm, 1 Aug 2011 (Forum)
if u loose turbo pressure on pressure side it would be even loss, this problem who we all have is a sudden loss, and it would have been a big whistle someplace thru a crack, but ill check if some vacumline is close to battery as one say in here, since i worked with the battery, could pushed one of or out......but again i think a in order Voyager turbo would run better even if u remove the turbo, then they do with this problem...but again im going to check if something around turbo/vacumlines,etc   had another 96(yes not learning.lol) coupple years ago ,same problem, didnt get it solved sold it,and dont know if they ever got it fixed, There is many in here who have EXACTLY the same problem, and there has not come up one single good answer whats real wrong and how to fix it,just lots of this and that, and im blank myself, was hoping someone who realy had fixed the problem had been in here and told.......i think but not sure that guy with turbocrack in line was another problem.......but ill check,it could be a chainreaction who tells sensors this and that,so ill check,if i solve it too,ill be in here and tell, but listen to all opinions......
  • ford focus - Particles, Catalitic converters, DPF's, Diesel??? 9 Jul 2011 (Forum)
The DPF's have an effect on fuel consumption so does Catalytic converters. The addition of the stop start system must put more stress on the battery and will most probably give it a shorter life span. Thus causing more polution in manufacturing a replacement. At present I still have the original Ford battery on my 03 fiesta, 8 years old and still going strong.
