• Brake light circuit 28 Sep 2001 (Forum)
  Lately I have been getting a brake light circuit warning on my 95M BMW Coupe automatic. This warning light comes on intermittently and mostly occurs in the middle of the journey. I have checked that the brake lights and found both are working even when the warning appears.

    I happy to seen a well known YouTuber, who scorned someone had got a manual in an high end luxury car.  However, another YouTube enthusiast M539, did n't like automatic on his BMW, and preferred manual on country windy roads.  Just wondering what the wisdom of this forum have to say on the matter?

  Ford Focus and Nissans he sees the least. Number one for breakdowns won't come as a surprise to anyone here - L-R Discovery, followed by BMWs and Mercedes. Many electrical issues with the two Germans. Electric vehicles are a nightmare to recover, so breakdown in one of those.

  Regarding the replacement of the BMW with an electric vehicle, if your total annual mileage is low and you are elderly it is possible that the reduction in co2 from the running of an electric vehicle never pays back the embodied co2 incurred in its construction especially if the electricity used is generated wholly or partly using non-renewable sources.

• Peugeot 308 1.4l - Oil consumption 29 Oct 2015 (Forum)
  Year 2008 Peugeot 308 1.4l petrol engine [ Prince/Bmw motor? ] requires frequent topping up of oil. It is using less than the manual states as normal but has to be watched. Is this a design/fault with the engine and can I or should I do anything to reduce the oil consumption.

  A mate of mine is buying a new car but they don't do it in the colour he wants so have offered him the opportunity to vinyl wrap the car ) it's a BMW, work to be done via the dealer). Are there any downsides to this?  Does the original paintwork retain its integrity and are there any issues with the vinyl 'coming off'? I know absolutely nothing about it though a Google search reveals it's quite common.

  Reading Redhound's post who came home with a different car they set out to.buy. I set out to buy something like a BMW 3 series I came home with an Mazda RX8. Uneconomical, uncomfertable on long runs, no hatch I set out to buy a cheaper second car, a Focus or similar, bought an Alfa 156 saloon

  In my previous car (BMW 328i) I was able to have fresh air at face/head height whilst warming my toes.  In my new 3008 there appears to be no way to have the same, and in fact in order to have warm feet the temperature has to be cranked up quite high, meaning an overly hot head!

• Audi A8 (2003 - 2010) - Paint problems 1 Apr 2009 (Forum)
  My Audi A8 3.0 litre TDI is three years old with 29000 miles and it is suffering from severe stonechips on the bonnet. Audi have checked and say there is no problem. My previous cars Jaguar and BMW did not have this problem with the same kind of use. Audi dealership say not their problem. Has anybody else had this problem? How wide spread is it?

  Seems to me BMW drivers get more than their fair share. Mate of mine with a 3 series gets lots when he is driving around, things like not being let out at junctions and other drivers wanting to race. As soon as he mentions the car at work out come the old cliches.
