  MoT Files 2019: Millennial classics coming of age 28 Feb 2019 (News)
  Already, there are some turn-of-the-century cars that are pulling in a cult following, the most obvious of which is the original BMW-built MINI, which turns 18 this year. But it’s not just the MINI that is well on the road to becoming a cult car, with other models from the early 2000s already en route to being cherished classics.

  Pedal car collection for sale 7 Mar 2018 (News)
  A collection of pedal cars is going under the hammer at Bicester Heritage later this month. The ‘no reserve’ Brightwells auction features 140 mini motors from the Jaguar Land Rover collection. Taking place on Wednesday, 21 March, the pedal cars are being sold alongside 100 classic cars and a collection of large-scale radio-controlled aircraft.

  Battle of Britain race for Silverstone Classic 5 Feb 2015 (News)
  Visitors will be able to see grids packed with famous British-marques like Aston Martin, Austin, Austin-Healey, Ford Cortina, Ginetta, Hillman, Jaguar, Lotus, MG, Mini, Marcos, Morgan, Morris, Riley, Sunbeam, Triumph, TVR and Wolseley. Nick Wigley, event director, said, ‘You only have to look at all the fabulous displays put on by car clubs at the Classic to know that the Fifties and Sixties were glory days for the British motor industry with brands such as Mini, MG and TR very much to the fore.

  Jaguar E-type tops the score sheet at Barons 12 May 2014 (News)
  Among the sellers watching their cars go to new homes, Brian Constable waved goodbye to the Mini Cooper S MKIII that he bought new in 1970, an enthusiastic bidder paying £10,500 for the privilege of becoming only the second owner in the car’s long life. Barons is now gearing up for its annual Jaguar Heritage auction at Sandown Park on 24 June.

  Big Classic Auction at Blenheim Palace on 14th July 5 Jul 2012 (News)
  The auction includes a fine selection of micro cars, a 1965 Morris Mini Cooper S recreated to the Italian Job specifications and the Jaguar Legend collection, with several E-Types, a SS100, a SS Tourer and various models of the XK and MK series, amongst others. Cars once owned by famous personalities include a 1954 Rolls-Royce that belonged to Dirk Bogard, and a 1972 Volkswagen Karman Ghia once owned by Kelly Jones and Javier Weyler of Stereophonics.

  BMW fans to gather at Gaydon 22 Jun 2017 (News)
  Now orgainisers hope even more vehicles will make the trip to this year’s BMW Car Club National Festival on Sunday, 13 August. Cars on show will include a range of M-Power vehicles, Alpina, Z-cars, and MINIs, as well as modern, classics and modified models. Activities will include a large motor sport display area showcasing BMW Car Club track days, a rolling road, tombola and prize draw, family entertainment, Pirelli stand, Concours winners, trade stands, and lots more.  Tickets cost £17 for adults, £10 for children (under fives go free) and £45 for a family.

  Hundreds of BMWs head to Gaydon 28 Jun 2016 (News)
  The event, which is Europe’s largest gathering of BMW’s, will celebrate 100 years of BMW with a range of classics and moderns. Expect models from M Power, Alpina, ZED, as well a range of BMW-made MINIs. As well as static displays, there will be a driving arena, concours competition, live music, a rolling road, show and shine, trade stands and a special display with 100 cars forming the 100 figure.

  “The BL Double Bonus, old boy.”  It meant anyone could “save a bundle” on the latest Mini, the ’81 Allegro, the Ital and the Princess.   Throughout it all was a spattering of Two Ronnies humour, with Corbett asking, 'Can I look over your new Ital', to which Barker quips: 'Not without a ladder.'

  Alfa 147 voted 'Car of the Year' 15 Nov 2000 (News)
  Third in the top ten was the Toyota Prius hybrid; fourth, the all alloy Audi A2; fifth, the new Mercedes C Class; sixth, the new Vauxhall Corsa; seventh, the new Volvo V70; eighth, the Chrysler PT Cruiser; ninth, the Peugeot 607; and tenth, the Citroen Picasso mini MPV. Good though it may be, the fact that a small, sporty car with excessive fuel consumption (Autocar test: 26.9mpg overall for the 1.6) calls into question the validity of the European 'Car of the Year' award.

  But don’t start thinking MINIs are getting cheaper. This one has done 77,000 miles. There were some cars going for reasonable money today, though. Like a 2002/51 Mercedes C220 CDI for just £6,050. And a 2003/53 S320CDI (less than 3 years old) for £18,400.

  A 28k mile 2005/54 Polo 1.4TDI Twist certainly wasn’t at £5,950. Nor was a real peach of a MINI One, 32k miles, 2004/54, with alloys and in that lovely light metallic blue MINI colour. It sold for £8,300. In contrast, an 85k mile 04 MINI Cooper with a/c didn’t go crazy and sold for a much more sensible £6,200.

  Used car prices rise by up to 57 per cent 22 Oct 2021 (News)
  The motoring group analysed the 30 most searched for cars on its platform, comparing prices of three, four and five year-old models in August 2019 and August 2021. It found that a three year-old Mini Hatch now costs 57 per cent more than a model of the same age cost in 2019 (£15,367 versus £9,811).   Barons Classic Jaguar Auction results 30 Apr 2010 (News)
    The sale offered cars from nine decades, ranging from ‘Abigail’, the   charming 1929 Dodge Six Phaeton (£16,215), up to a relatively   contemporary car that’s already well on the way to being a classic - a   2000 Mini Cooper Sport (£5,711).   Entries are now invited for Barons’ sale at Sandown Park on June 15th.   Early entries include a rare 1967 Honda S800 Coupe with just 36,000    miles on the clock (estimate £8,000-10,000).
