Citroen c5 HDi VTR+Nav Saloon 2010 plate - Could you tell me who is at fault here please? 18 Nov 2012 (Forum)
AA arrived and although he couldn't diagnose the actual fault, he hinted at a possible sensor issue. Car AA'd to local main Citroen dealer who said they needed it for 'a couple of days'. They couldn't tell me what the issue might be. Confused at that, I phoned my local independent Citroen garage, who told me it was a known fault with the oil filter...it needs to be 'lined up' correctly or problems occur and the main dealer would sort it. -
Citroen C4 (2004 - ) - Mini review - impressed! 17 Sep 2008 (Forum)
SWMBO has a business trip coming up and a hire car has turned up: A Citroen C4 1.6 SX automatic! I can't say I've ever been a Citroen fan in particular, but SWMBO commuted in it today and came back raving about it, so I went for a little blast myself. The first thing that strikes you is the styling. -
Citroen C4 Picasso - Handbrake faulty message on Cit C4 57 17 Jun 2022 (Forum)
Hopefully someone can help me here as it's a well populated drivers forum. Back in March I purchased a Citroen C4 Picasso, 57 plate, with an onboard computer system. About a week after buying it, upon setting off at lights, the car stalled and I got a "Handbrake faulty" message, so I turned over and started up again and off it went. -
Citroen Xsara Picasso, 1.6 TDi, 2004, 75k miles - Sudden total clutch slip(?) - no previous symptoms 18 Sep 2015 (Forum)
This is totally different from a 'normal' slipping clutch: sudden onset from symptom-free, no warning of anything wrong - and I am always gentle on the clutch, to get longer life... Car is Citroen Xsara Picasso, 1.6 TDi, 2004, 75k miles. My own thoughts: - Possible pressure plate sudden failure? (is it possible? but no previous symptoms...) - Slipping of friction material? -
Citroen Xsara - Bad fume smell 27 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Hi guys, Bit of advice needed. I have a Citroen Xsara X reg. At the end of June I have the front pipe replaced on the exhaust system, that connects the engine to the cat. This was done in a very large chain garage as I couldn't get into my usual mechanic. -
Citroen Berlingo Multispace - Engine misfire, Lots of black smoke 3 Aug 2011 (Forum)
, but it would be handy to access the fault diagnostics, its apparantly not campatible with the European OBD2 system, does any one know what it is, is it possible to purchase a software package for connecting to a computer? Its not possible to take this vehicle to a citroen dealer, its on a farm in rural Herefordshire many miles from the nearest (nice place to work though!), I understand that the advance/retard solenoid (situated underneath the injection pump) gets a digital signal from the ECU, anyone scoped this, do you know the nature of the signal? -
Citroen Xantia (1993 - 2000) - 1998 1.9TD rear suspension problems 30 Jul 2008 (Forum)
I did notice though that for no reason the ride was starting to become firm but on other days was smooth. This doesn't make any sense to me. Phoned the local citroen people and was absolutely horrified by potential cost, so guys i'm going to have to sort this lot out myself but only with your kind help....Sorry ths is a long one but again i really would appreciate any help....Many thanks -
Citroen Saxo (1997 - 2003) - 2000 1.6 No power at all, any ideas? 28 May 2008 (Forum)
I think that is likely to be the connectors under the seat and not at all to do with this issue. Have asked a Citroen garage for an opinion, all they want is for me to open my cheque book up for them to have a look and run diagnostics. problem is I have very limited financial resources and I'm not prepared to do that without some form of idea about the size of the problem first. -
Which sensible diesel? 29 Nov 2006 (Forum)
Doesn't really have to be bigger than the Megane but need the flexibility of a hatchback (so my original favourite of a Skoda Superb's out) 7. 1-2 years old, 12k-ish budget I'd narrowed down to a shopping list of... 1. Skoda Octavia 2.0PD 2. Citroen C5 2.0HDI (new shape) 3. Citroen C4 2.0HDI 4. Vauxhall Vectra 1.9CDTI (probably 120) 5. Toyota Avensis 2.0 D-4D Of course it's my choice in the end but always intersted in your opinions as to which might best fit the bill. -
Citroen C8 Burning Smell 22 Dec 2004 (Forum)
The only way to stop it is to open and close some/all the doors and un-lock/re-lock the car. We have had RAC (AKA Citroen Assist) out twice. The first time the guy found some bitumen type material on the exhaust. This may be from the underneath of the car or from the road. It seemed to make a temporary difference to the smell problem. -

gear change indicators 7 May 2017 (Forum)
Does anyone else find they tell you to change up too early? In my Citroen Berlingo van I can feel the engine labouring if I change up before 1500rpm but the indicator arrow on the display comes on way before then. The engine doesnt feel fully relaxed going into 5th until 1650rpm. -
And the first 58 plate I saw was....... 13 Sep 2008 (Forum)
If the pessimistic approach is taken the first 58 plate any of us sees (if one is seen) should be a Hyundai I10, a Fiat 500, a mini Citroen, Peugot, Toyota or something along those lines or generally green and with low VED. I wonder. So what was the first 58 plate you saw? -
Easy access seating 15 May 2008 (Forum)
I'm looking for any recommendations for cars that give easy access to the driver, with a preferably higher driving position, and a more upright sitting position, not a 4x4, due to a back injury that makes getting in & out painful if the position is low Ie i'm looking at the citroen berlingo the mercedes a class & the fiat multiplas- but open to suggestion {edited to remove SHOUTING!} -
Honest John - the horse 6 Apr 2008 (Forum)
. :-) 14-1, I couldn't resist backing it, so cheers Honest John! Horse racing just isn't the same without Citroen CXs bounding around on the inside though. Tenuous, desperate attempt at motoring link :-) -
Funniest sighting on the road? 25 Sep 2006 (Forum)
I just caught sight of a Citroen 2CV towing a caravan. As if this wasn't an absurd enough thing in the first place, I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that I'm pretty sure the caravan must have been extendable or something, unless you're supposed to sleep with your feet sticking out of a window. -
healthy car won't start.Citroen Berlingo 30 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Yesterday started my healthy (Petrol) Citroen Berlingo Multispace . Saw I didn't have enough fuel for my journey, immediately turned off engine, jumped into my other car and made my journey. Today my Berlingo won't start. Is it because of what I did to it yesterday? -
Camshaft.Re-profile or not? 4 Aug 2005 (Forum)
What benefits,if any, apart from cost, can you get from a re-profiled camshaft? The reason I ask,is because on my Citroen AX autograss car,a lairy cam is £300+,whereas I can have the current GT cam re-profiled to the lairy one for £100,thereby putting the savings to another part of the car. -
Cit ZX water loss 8 Feb 2005 (Forum)
My son's Citroen ZX turbo diesel appears to be losing water although no puddles or tell tale "water marks" seem to be present, except a bit round the rad cap. The water is not at all foamy and does not smell of combustion. -
