Mini Sony Nav-U70T satnav review 13 Mar 2006 (Forum)
It also doesn't do that irritating thing of trying to re-route you back to the original for miles after it's obvious a new route is better (a la Lexus I'm afraid) Three D map zooms in and out automatically as you approach junctions nicely, and there's a two D one too that shows points of interest etc. There seem to be about a billion of those. We haven't yet worked out if anything can be done with speed cameras - not built in as poi. -
Lexus IS250 21 Jul 2025 (Forum)
Hi everyone, I’m trying to find somewhere in Suffolk to change the automatic gearbox fluid and filter on a 2012 Lexus IS250. Any recommendations? I would go to the main dealer but they will only do a drain not a full fluid change. Equally, I don’t want it hooked up to a flush machine. -
Replacing my Audi Convertible 13 May 2024 (Forum)
So after a suitable period of mourning I am looking for a replacement. Looking for something similar, convertible or coupe but now want an automatic. I like the A5 but understand the multitronic gearbox is to be avoided, which leaves BMW or Mercedes. Looked at a C class coupe and E class convertible over the weekend. The sad thing is that 4 years ago I paid £3,600 for an 11 year old car with 100,00 miles now I am looking at £7,000 for a 12-14 year old car, also with 100,000 miles. -
any - Insurance renewals 30 Jan 2024 (Forum)
Anyway, we did some mild jiggery pokery with the cover, lowered the mileages slightly to what i'd put in the comparison site and removed the (automatic) business use that DL's standard comp policies come with, total excesses were either the same or within £50, protected policies with legal cover and basic courtesy car etc. Have now re-insured with DL @ £290 ish and £270ish respectively and was happy to do so, prefer to have a bit of history where possible rather than swapping all the time, i paid up on the spot so would assume the nice lady i dealt with would get the commission for her time and trouble. -
Jaguar Land Rover - Indicator sound too quiet/Sat nav voice too loud 7 Oct 2023 (Forum)
The default sound level should be loud enough to be heard-it's nonsense spouted by JLR to say a safety warning shouldn't intrude on refinement - Jaguar cars in the past have been noted for refinement even though the indicator sound is clearly audible. As a suggestion, radios for a long time have had automatic volume increase as speed increases so why not on indicator volume? Another common complaint on JLR models(the reverse of quiet indicator noise) is the fact that the Sat nav volume cannot be adjusted below a pre adjusted volume & in this case can be too loud(Evoque for example has a minimum sat nav guidance level of volume 20). -
Mercedes CLK 2001 model year. - Mercedes CLK 200 Kompressor W208 loss of power 19 Mar 2022 (Forum)
I have a 2001 CLK automatic which I have owned for over 16 years. It is in fantastic condition but has been expensive to maintain over the years. I no longer use Mercedes dealerships for servicing and repairs . -
Any - Recovery Services - Not Even Same Day! 10 Nov 2021 (Forum)
It ran for five miles and died with no power whatsover in a dark country lane. The car, nearly new, automatically phoned JLR who said I believe you have broken down. Yes she said. OK we will pick it up tomorrow! Somewhat nonplussed she phoned Green Fflag with additional family membership. We will be out in an hour; or maybe two hours; or maybe..... -
Volkswagen Golf - First car, 08 Golf Advice? 18 Sep 2021 (Forum)
If it helps, besides 2 minor stone chips on the bonnet, the bodywork and interior is pretty much spotless from the photos. Also I've been told this is a high price but I'm not sure if this is because it is an automatic and some are unaware of the average higher prices (little to no DSG mk5 golfs under £3000) or if car prices are just relatively high atm? All in all, what are your overall thoughts on the car, the price, condition etc? -

SEAT Alhambra 2013 - Battery/Door lights flashing - Alhambra 8 Mar 2021 (Forum)
Its been charging on and off via a Ctek XS 0.8 over the last week and its holding very little charge even after 13-14 hrs and also after a 50-60 mile trip. After the last charge both automatic door opening lights on the dash are now flashing. If i can, I want to sort this issue(s) myself to keep costs down as gf is v likely to be made redundant imminently, that said we have nearly 2yr old triplets so time is at a premium. -
FPN court summons for driving with No insurance !! 14 Feb 2021 (Forum)
Hi there, I'm new to this forum and I'm searching for info regrading my dilemma but there's hardly any info regarding this on the web. On 30/09/2019 my cousin financed a new Audi A3. it was his first automatic car and he asked me to show him the ropes so he insured me on it temporarily ( for a one month period ) at approximatively 9AM . The car was delivered at 5PM with a complementary one week insurance on his name. -
ford cmx/ Xsara PIcasso/ Other mpv - Dilemna between cars... 6 Feb 2021 (Forum)
This is what I want: Higher seating position (hence me wanting an MPV, just got rid of my 4x4 which was guzzling fuel) Automatic Reliable Good mpg Max 3000/3500 pounds I don't do much miles, 8000 max a year so petrol would be best I think. My choices, after doing some research online seem to be: CMax or Xsara Picasso or Megan Scenic (possibly a model 3) (although I am weary of the fuel consumption of older models) Definitely no C4 Picasso due to the faulty auto gearbox I have seen a few cmax (2006-2009) but there seems to be a problem with the suspension arms, a "disease" that costs 500 pounds to repair. -
Mazda 6 2.2d sport (2015) - DPF Malfunction warning - worth a manual regen? 22 Oct 2020 (Forum)
Following Mazda's helpful guidance, off for a run down the M23 I go, keeps revs between 2.5-3k. Halfway back the message turns into 'DPF Malfunction', so I presume this means the automatic regen failed. I call the local Mazda garage, who inspect it (well, probably plug in their code reader and charge £120 for the privilege) and tell me that the Throttle Body needs to be replaced and a manual regen tried, but this - after already leaving me £500 odd worse off - doesn't guarantee that it'll fix the problem, and the DPF might need to be replaced anyway. -
Skoda and Hyundai - Millers petrol additive. 17 Dec 2019 (Forum)
Only bought it today and it seems to suggest that it's best put in before filling the tank ... and they're both full up so there won't be any quick results. But I pose the (obvious) question ... am I likely to see ANY sort of difference in an automatic 1.2 petrol Hyunda and a DSG 1.2 petrol Yeti, both of which mainly do short journeys with occasional decent runs? Might it clean the pipes out a bit? Might I see a tiny improvement in anything? -
Vauxhall Corsa, Toyota Yaris - First Car - Corsa or Yaris 10 Mar 2019 (Forum)
I have recently passed my test (automatic) and I'm looking for my first car... I have found two that I am considering but need some advise please as this is all new to me. I would be using the car mainly at weekends and then for longer drives from London to Dorset 3/4 times a year, I don't want to spend too much money on a first car and would probably look to get a new one in a couple of years. -
Citroen C4 Grand Picasso - Intermittent juddering/engine cutouts from cold 6 Aug 2018 (Forum)
Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help us, we’ve been experiencing intermittent problems with the semi-automatic gearbox on our 2014 Picasso Grand over the last year. Our local Citroen garage say ‘they have no answers for us’ and are unable to isolate the problem, yet we feel the symptoms of this problem could easily put our families safety at jeopardy should it occur at the wrong time/place in the future. -
Ford Focus - 57 plate 1.6 TDCI Auto cutting out 30 Aug 2017 (Forum)
Hi all, I have a Ford Focus 57 plate, it's 1.6 TDCI with an automatic gear box. a few months ago, the car was cutting out when coming to a stop (giveway, junction etc). The car would start immediately but when putting it into drive and moving away, it would cut out again. -
Honda Fit 2006 - Honda Jazz problem ?EGR valve 19 May 2017 (Forum)
I have a Honda Fit (jazz, japanese import), automatic 2006 model. It has close to 100,000 miles done. For a long while now it has had a problem where it seems to jerk - the mechanic decribed it as a loss of power. It is only brief and it only happens when accelerating, normally at around 2000 revs. -
first impressions of my new Volvo XC60 D4 Auto 19 Apr 2017 (Forum)
But for the size and weight I am pleased so far. Once located the electronic park brake is fine to use, it also releases automatically if you set off in D. The telephones for me and SWMBO paired up instantly. The DAB radio is excellent and the sterio also works well through bluetooth from my music library on my i phone. Satnav is simple to use and offers traffic reports and speed camera warnings. -
Honda Civic - Honda service, how to annoy a customer 16 Apr 2017 (Forum)
No free breakdown and recovery cover had been provided even though its part of Honda's long-running service offer. Apparently I should have asked for it! They don't provide it automatically. She was however able to sort it right away. So what should have been an experience where I felt I was getting a very good deal (which it is), left me pretty disgruntled. I could have missed out on £100 or more of value.
