  It also shudders intermittently at high speeds, and the brake pedal is very high, stiff and feels like the brakes aren't 'releasing' properly or are sticking when you put your foot on the accelerator. The garage has suggested another diagnostics check. Can anyone recommend an Audi specialist in the West London/Surrey area that may be more reasonably charged than an official Audi garage, or suggest any solution/fix to the problem? Thanks SLT

  I am looking to replace my Saab convertible and am drawn to either a BMW 3 series coupe or an Audi A5. I would like to get an automatic. I know there are no real issues with BMW autos but I am unsure about the Audi. It seems some have the Multitronic gearbox and some the S-tronic.   Occasionally I lose reverse gear on my 2008 Audi A3 Quattro 2.0T DSG. In reverse position the car will not move and will only rev to about 1200rpm. The only way to cure this is to turn the ignition off and re-start the engine. The car is still under warranty and been back to the dealers 3 times, but they cannot find anything wrong, I now have complained to Audi UK who have taken up the case but still want me to take the car back to the local s******s.

  I read recently that VW are to launch the Mk6 Golf next year and as such wish to PX my 2004 Mk5 (1.9 TDI SE) to get the maximum price.
