If anyone has any ideas, I would be most grateful. Thanks very much. PS, HJ has come across the bizz on the radio
  • Corsa external temperature 4 Feb 2002 (Forum)
My '93 Corsa is no longer showing the external temperature on the radio display, it shows --.- ! I found the sensor at the front behind the number plate. It seems to have a dc resistance of about 30 ohms, but it was 70ohms at one point. It does not seem to chnage over even when I put it in the fridge.
  • Hyundai ix35 - Battery problems, 3 years old 30 May 2017 (Forum)
Occaiosns 3 and 4 - similar to the first - short period stopped to take a call, radio on (no volume) - engine off, ignition on. Perhaps the climate control draw was high? 10 minutes at the most, car won't start.   Hyundai dealer have checked the battery and stated that it tests ok, but needs a 'full trickle charge'.
  • Peugeot 307 SW (2002 - 2008) - 04 2.0HDI 110 se - Turbo Hisses like mad 28 May 2008 (Forum)
Is there a fuse for this somewhere else other than the internal fusebox as all the fuses seem to be fine? If not, would i need a new display unit or could it be a wiring fault as it has had a new radio fit by the previous owner (was wondering if it was in any way linked to the wiring of the factory fit radio?) Thanks in advance to anybody who can help me out, sorry about the long post! John
  • UK bans any use of mobile phones while driving 18 Oct 2020 (Forum)
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2020/oct/17/uk-bans-any-use-of-mobile-phones-while-driving I hold the phone in my hands whilst driving. I do use the phone for sat nav and sometimes for music (and occasionally internet radio). In my car, there is a place I keep it, but it is n't a dedicated car mount (I see to recall the phone had to be in a cradle).    However, if a phone call comes in can people take it hands-free on speaker?
  • VW Eos TDI Sport 2.0l 2010 - Eos Bluetooth Issue 1 Apr 2019 (Forum)
I cant connect to the bluetooth. I have a RCD 310 radio and Bluetooth is selected 'on'. In the MFD Menu there is no option for 'phone'. I have tried clicking the factory resets in the MFD menu. I've read about having to unpair the existing phone and people saying you need to connect with the existing phone to get the 'phone' option to appear in the menu.
  • Peugeot 308 SW - Battery completely dead 12 Jan 2019 (Forum)
Unlocked my car with the remote, got in, turned the ignition - one click and - not even a flicker of power. No interior light, no radio, definitely no engine turn. My question is, if this is the battery, wouldn't it have died a slower death - ie; given me lighting etc but not enough juice for the engine? Or is this a bad cell in the battery?
  • Ford Fiesta 2003 - Speedometer fault 26 Nov 2018 (Forum)
Hi, My 2003 petrol fiesta NON ABS model has a problem where the speedometer flicks between the actual speed and the far end of the guage e.g. at 70 MPH it will constantly flick all over between 70 and 140 mph!  This also effects the auto volume on the radio.  I'm hoping its a just sensor that needs cleaning, any ideas?
  • Mercedes-Benz Sprinter - Is this oil leak a problem? 17 Aug 2018 (Forum)
After a thorough inspection yesterday we've picked up on a few issues - back door catch broken off, side door doesn't lock, radio screen isn't working and what looks like some leaking oil underneath (I don't think I can attach pictures in this forum?). The dealer has good reviews and has said they'll fix all the issues. We asked the dealer about the previous owner and it was Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
  • VW Golf VR6 - Claim against Halfords for breaking my Car 22 Feb 2017 (Forum)
Not for publication Hello, In Aug 2016 Halfords tried to fit a new radio into my Golf and burnt out the live feed wire, resulting in significant damage to the wiring loom, rendering my car undriveable and uneconomical to repair. I'm currently in discussions with them over a settlement claim as the figure they have offerred as the value of my car (prior to the damsge) is somewhat less than the comparables I have obtained.
  • LDV Maxus - What a dreadful van 20 Oct 2016 (Forum)
Awful gearchange, turbo kicks in at the wrong time, naff interior, controls all over the place. Mirrors are rubbish, engine is noisy, radio is like an old transistor thing, it's like been put in the driving seat of a Mk1 Transit but without the presitigious badge. I have absolutely nothing positive to say about this van at all. Bring back my lovely Transporter asap PLEASE!!!!
  • Focus ST3 2015 - Ford Sync2 Infotaiment 11 May 2016 (Forum)
Loud hiss coming from dash like high pressure gas escaping, like opening a gas cylinder wide open. Goes off with the volume knob and is across all radio stations as well as DAB and FM channels. Any one on here have the same car and experienced the same thing? Is it a simple fix? I know it's under warranty, but before I start booking and using up time, I just wondered if there is a simple thing I can do before I get to that point.

  • Mitsubishi Colt 5-door DiD Diesel 2006 - Variable brilliance of Digital Dash Display 15 Jun 2015 (Forum)
I have a 2006 Diesel DiD CZ2 automated manual Colt. Over the last few months the digital dashboard display (radio, temperature, mpg info etc) has been getting progressively dimmer. Sometimes full brilliance, then nothing, back to half brilliance, then barely visible, full brightness etc and so it goes on.
  • Polo, Fiesta, Fabia or 3cyl Hyundai i20 iMarch '15 - optimum new car, for 5000 city miles per annum 5 Feb 2015 (Forum)
Or indeed perhaps a Toyota Yaris 1.333 petrol All in nominally SE spec, with no metallic paint minimal extras, but a full size spare wheel and steering wheel controls for radio and telephone. Car to be kept for 10 or 12 years, doing about 5000/year All between £11,500 and £12,500 priced on Drive the Deal. Thoughts. The new i20 is lovely to sit in, not test driven as yet.

  • Ford Mondeo II (1996 - 2000) - (96-00)2.5 V6 Ghia - Instrument Lights not working 12 Jun 2012 (Forum)
The instrument lights went out very suddenly this evening, that is the dashboard lighting and all the lighting for the radio, auto gearbox selection etc.... I've looked up the fuses and decided it was Fuse 31, 7.5 amps. Changed the fuse, even though it looked fine. Checked all the other 7.5 amp fuses, they are all ok too.
