peugeot 106 diesel leak 17 Jan 2005 (Forum)
Starting has been getting gradually worse up to a point where it requires priming every time to start now. Further investigation has led me to a diesel leak above the fuel filter housing. When priming diesel leaks quite fast out of the outlet above the fuel filter. When the engine is running air bubbles can be seen in the clear pipe running from the filter to the pump. -
Speedo/Tacho. Stopped Working - BMW520i 8 Jan 2005 (Forum)
Could anyone kindly shed any light on this - I'm hoping it could be a fuse although I guess the speedo, tacho and fuel gauge all registering zero on the move may suggest a faulty cable?? Greatly appreciate opinions -
Audi A3 Fuel Economy 29 Mar 2004 (Forum)
I've done about 1400 miles in the A3 now, and all round its a very nice car, but the economy seems a little on the low side still, the only way to break... -
Erratic idling on Omega? 19 Apr 2003 (Forum)
On travelling at around 30/40 m.p.h it tends to hold back then pick up then hold back and so on. The fuel pressure valve fitted to the end of the fuel rail "hisses" as if its leaking air? The car also "pinks" on acceleration too. so does anyone have any ideas before i burst into tears? -
Shell vs supermarket 27 Nov 2002 (Forum)
Recently I have been attempting to use Shell diesel when possible, but the last 4 times I have filled my Polo have been twice from the Shell station and twice at Tesco. Both times at Tesco I have noticed the fuel markedly more frothy and difficult to get brimmed full (to measure fuel consumption - anally retentive I know...) I was wondering what information this gives on the content of surfactants to help keep the engine clean?? -
Please help me with 4x4 query? 15 Nov 2002 (Forum)
The missus wants to bet rid of her current car (Mitsubishi GTO 3000 twin turbo) as we have moved to the country and the fuel consumption is a bit heavy now she is earning less. She wants to buy a 4x4 but the fuel/mpg figures are quite shocking talking to local people with Range/Land Rovers etc. Could anyone tell me what 4x4's give the best MPG? -

Citroen Relay - Citroen Relay - Van Smoking Heavily! Please help 14 Mar 2016 (Forum)
At first I thought fuel injector 3 was the problem as when I pulled the power it continues to idle a bit rough but nothing too serious this is why I did the clean though it might be a bit of debris needing cleaning, My first thought was no 3 injector had failed so to test I swapped it with number 2 ran at 2000 rpm for 10 minutes to clear the excess fuel then pulled power on injector 2 to confirm bad injector but it stalled and new injector 3 still ran any ideas I'm stumped thanks in advance for any help -

Ford Mondeo 2.0 Diesel 2005 55000 miles - Glow Plug Light Flashing/Engine Cutting out 27 Oct 2015 (Forum)
It may also go into limp home mode and the engine management light will come on. The issue will be in most cases the Diesel Injector Fuel Pump - cost to replace - about £1100! Don't listen to anyone about water in the fuel, camshaft sensors, crankshaft sensors, even injectors. These are all red herrings. There is a known problem with the internal workings of the fuel pump that fail and send swarf through the system. -
Volkswagen Bora - Brain teaser.. 52 plate Bora 1.9 TDI wont start 18 May 2014 (Forum)
When the car is cranked over, all readings on my mates snap on diagnostic seem correct. We used a NOID to check the trigger signal to the injectors and all appear ok. When the fuel feed or return to the tandem pump is removed fuel sprays out therefore lift pump is working and filter not blocked. Fuel is clean diesel too. No engine oil in it or veg oil present. With the dreaded easi start hastily sprayed in to the inlet the engine will run but it is running on the easi start. -
Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 1.6 (115) poor fuel economy..help! 19 Aug 2013 (Forum)
Otherwise, nice car despite the annoying habit of not starting if I leave it parked on a (upward) slope if the fuel warning light is on! As always thanks in advance Steve -
VW Passat - Fuel injectors failure on VW Passat 55 plate 28 Jul 2012 (Forum)
I came accross your site by luck, and did find out that we were not the only one troubled by fuel injector failure. When injector 1 failed, the car had only 55k miles and was 6 years old.....and did cost £880 to fix at a local garage. It was repaired but they said that the other 3 are likely to fail soon. -
Budget 2012 21 Mar 2012 (Forum)
The 'gain' for low earners will be wiped out by fuel increases and despite the Commons voting to bring fuel prices down last year it seems the Chancellor will actively disregard that and increase it anyway. It remains to be seen what other motoring related news will come out of this budget, i've heard no word on any VED increases or anything. -
Citroen Berlingo diesel van - citroen berlingo diesel won't start HELP PLEASE 7 Nov 2011 (Forum)
hi guys I'm a newbie on here and getting desperate, bought a non turbo berlingo van in bridlington and drove it back to leeds about 60 miles, next day went 3 miles and sods law timing belt went, got another engine and box from a running van that had been hit up the rear, van master tech guys from a ford main dealer fitted new timing belt and the engine and for three weeks have been trying to get it going with no luck, they have had diagnostic machine on and shows no faults, they seem to have tied it down to no fuel, the fuel gets to the pump but is not coming through, there is a minor fault showing a problem with intermittent earth I think from ecu ( but don't quote me i am speaking from memory ) but they have by passed that and still same fault, we have the old fuel pump from othe engine but apparently to swap it you have to remove the engine again, so was trying to determine if there was anything else it could be, any help would be very much appreciated -
Peugeot 106 1.5 Diesel - Any ideas why this struggles to start? (video) 16 Sep 2011 (Forum)
v=O2CVF6lvfSQ It was doing this before, tha car has never run right ...I'm guessing it's the fuel injectors, or the fuel pump.. Is it easy enough to diagnose the problem? At the moment the fuel has been in for 8 months, & I have added 5 liters of fresh diesel. First thing in the morning, it just turns over and over without any cylinders firing for 100 turns... -
Hyundai Tucson - Tucson diesel fuel consumption 18 Mar 2011 (Forum)
Because of my location, coastal/rural with appalling roads, it ticks all the boxes for my present needs and is clearly a straight vehicle in every respect as, at present, it belongs to the wife of one of the directors, so no worries on that score. I am a little concerned, however, about fuel consumption of this model which seems to have been a bone of contention between owners and Hyundai. The official combined mpg is quoted as 39.2 but I have read reports of owners achieving only 22/23mpg even taking into account the fact that the trip computer works in US gallons. -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 01 1.8 Please help... my car won't start 21 Nov 2009 (Forum)
I had used it about an hour previously and all was fine. The starter motor is turning over and she is trying to start, but no fuel is getting through. I've checked some things and have managed to rule out the fuel cut-off switch, the relay, a particular fuse that seems to be a problem with Focuses, and have changed the coil pack. -
Honda Accord USA Coupe (1998 - 2002) - 01 2.0 Starting Problems 31 Jul 2009 (Forum)
It started first time as soon as the weather cooled when it rained (approx 5 pm). A friend has suggested that it is probably the fuel pump relay . Can anyboby help with the position of this on a v6 engineand what it looks like .How easy to change and any web link where I could buy a replacement . I would also welcome any suggestions of the fault ,if you think it's not the fuel pump relay.
