Vauxhal Vectra B - X18XE Missfire (no EML) 7 Sep 2011 (Forum)
I started off by checking the engine grounds,ECU ground and basically any i could find (they where cleaned and checked) next i was told that the alt overcharging can do odd things so i tested that (14.4v at 3000 rpm which i believe is ok), i thought that maybe the oil fault had returned so i pulled all the plugs (they where fine) i tested the Leads and Coil (also within spec), Checked the Compression (all even and within spec). Now i am left thinking it could be a Sensor?. But even when its really playing up there is no Engine light or fault codes? -
Honda Accord 2.0i SE VTec (auto) 1999 - What's fair - after purchase query, used car 29 Jun 2011 (Forum)
Suggested that I give it a few miles and see if the light comes back on and stays on in which case he'll replace the plugs and leads. Light did flicker on and off a couple of times after I'd got the revs up a bit some open road, but went off again after couple of mins. However, garage picked up that the aircon isn't working, I hadn't even tried it yet. -

Acceptable Forum Behaviour 6 Nov 2006 (Forum)
Not only can arguments and in-jokes be unwelcoming for newcomers, they can have the same negative effects on regular members. For starters it can lead to unpleasantness, misunderstandings and name calling just because of a few misplaced words. It can also lead other members to think a certain way of behaving is acceptable, and where they see one person doing it, so like sheep they follow suit. -
VW T-Roc - VAG 7 speed dry clutch DSG box....we have one! 30 Dec 2022 (Forum)
My question is simply, is there any particular way to drive the car with mechanical sympathy to minimise the risk of putting undue strain on the box? Or to put it another way is there any particular driving style which is more likely to lead to issues? Thanks in advance -
Best Car Someone With Mobility Issues 1 Nov 2022 (Forum)
The reason being that my elderly grandfather's mobility is becoming more and more limited, he's 6ft plus and finds getting into the Civic an absolute nightmare as the car is low and he keeps hitting his head trying to get in and he has terrible trouble with his legs/muscles. I've been looking online and it's leading me to believe that I may have to look into getting a small SUV. Not thrilled at the thought of getting one as I am used to driving smaller vehicles but needs must at the moment! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I am just so not sure where I even begin! -
Highway code changes - straight ahead priority 1 Sep 2021 (Forum)
So a motorcyclist would be expected to overtake a car when it's waiting to turn right? Surely this can't be right? I can see these changes leading to a lot of collisions, but maybe I've misunderstood it (but that would mean it's not as 'simple' as they say). Does anybody think it's a good idea? -
Renault Laguna Estate 1.9dci 2008 - Car won't start 21 Oct 2020 (Forum)
Hi everyone new here and having trouble getting the car to start on its own. Recently went to the supermarket and when I came out the car wouldn't start`so bought some jump leads to try and start it, nothing happened so I had to push start it. It's a keyless ignition with a keycard and a start stop button. Since the incident the engine warning light is illuminated when the card is inserted and after about 10 seconds a warning light comes on saying "battery low start engine", since then I charged the battery using a battery charger until the charger said fully charged and then tried to start the engine again, still nothing and then same error message. -
E82 Car Stereo - Want an powerful car stereo for ? 26 Jul 2020 (Forum)
I use the car stereo system mainly for playing music when driving or watch videos when I get the car parked. I have taken a look at the leading brands like Xtrons, Kenwood, Pioneer. It seems the Xtrons BS8719UN is the most cost-effective and I likes its appearance. Also, it has QualcommA53 CPU, 4G RAM and 64G ROM. Anyone has used Xtrons before? -
Kia Sportage - car insurance 17 Jul 2020 (Forum)
Till then, on asking I have not been charged an admin fee. This time extra to pay was about £40.oo but I had been on a comparison website leading me to their website as a new customer and the premium for the new car was the same as my old car, so it was admin fee PLUS a sneaky price rise. Objected and was told, cancel the policy online, and take out a new policy online and we refund the balance, (no fee) and you get the new policy for the screen price. -
Does static really matter with a pc build? 19 Oct 2019 (Forum)
make certain you have touched earth before touching the components or get an earth lead to wrap around the wrist that connects to a work mat as you could damage the parts, I have the B450 and Ryzen 2700x with 32 gig memory and installed after touching earth first some dont think its necessary but it is unless your not worried about losing a component, a high static discharge can cause a lot of damage to any electrical circuit.
