• Audi A1 - Petrol smell coming through air con 19 Dec 2020 (Forum)
  Hi there, Audi a1 issue for 3 months now, full service been done, fuel filter replaced and fuel cap replaced. Air con sensor replaced, car checker over 5 times for any leaks, nothing showing on computer. Any ideas what could be causing this, fuel smell only comes through when stationary or low speeds, spent a bit of money trying to resolve anybody had the same issue.

  The air con in my 2015 Mondeo Estate seems to be over sensitive to temperature changes and effectively seems to try to keep the temperature exactly as set, blowing hot and cold alternately.  This almost continuous operation is frustrating and unnecessary and probably doesn't help fuel cnsumption.

  I have a focus with ac issue. The air con doesn't work although light displays on panel. Gas is full to max as filled it. Something I have noticed is the cooling fan is on even on cold start. A colleague looked at it and said the acon pressure sensor could cause this, anyone agree?

  Its like a leaf has got into the fan and is spining round and round. If I have the heater fan on number 1 and switch on the Air Con the noise starts and changes pitch with the rev of the engine.  If I turn the Aircon button off the noise stops Has anyone had this problem before, is there anything I can check?

  My 2003 1.8LX has an air-con problem. The A/C light only comes on (and the A/C works) with the Fan switch set to position 1. When the fan is set to 2,3 or 4 the light goes out (and the A/C stops working). The A/C light comes back on again when the fan is reduced to 1 again.

  How do I change Alternator/Power Steering/Air Con drive belt ? I've got a Cavalier 2.0i CDX 1995 (X20XEV engine) . Can't see how you get the long Alternator/Power Steering/Air Con drive belt off. I checked my Haynes manual doesn't seem to show my car engine model.

  Hello fellow swarfega users, In an effort to please my better half I bought her a low mileage c max which she likes. The air con comes on every time the car is started up -Fords way of making sure the system doesnt fail through lack of use I suppose. There is a whining noise as though the compressor has a dry bearing but this disappears when you switch off the air con.

  Hi My air con has stopped working. When I turn it on, I hear a light 'sizzling' sound from behind the dash, and no cool air. It has never had a gas top-up, so I'm hoping that's all that's needed on my 7-year old car.

  I've got the 115 version of the Focus, and I am very pleased with the car so far, had it for about 9 months. However, I recently got a Ford franchised dealer to carry out an air conditioning service as the air conditioning wasn't blowing as cold as it should. It came back and the air con was nice and cold and all was good. A week after the service, I switched the air con and and noticed that with the air con on the car was making quite a groaning sound, quite loud as I could here it above the radio.

  My son had the air con regassed back in September and it's now stopped, or nearly stopped working again. With the aid of a UV light I can seen there is leak around where one of the pipes joins the condenser. Two questions.

  I have a flashing climate control display on start up on my 56 reg Galaxy Ghia. While flashing, what I presime is an error code of 88 is displayed in several places. The air con seems to have stopped working although the blowers etc work. I am in France and the language problems will make it difficult to discuss with a French garage. Does anyone know how I can find out if this is an error code and what it means?

  I have an air con compressor with the No. R-1580023 ref v699423-vau stuck on it. A year ago I bought this for an Astra but I never bothered to fit it. Can anyone confirm what models this pump will fit or where I may check the numbers myself.
