Ford Fiesta Zetec 56 - Air con problem,cant find leak - cockneycooky

Hi,

The aircon keeps losing gas but only very very slowly. It works for around 6 weeks after a regas.

I have had it checked with UV light by a qualified mecanic but cant find any signs of a leak from anywhere including inside.

Any ideas what could be causing the leak and the next steps.

Anybody recommend a good air con specialist, with better dianostic tools than UV light, in the Bromley Kent area.

You've probably got a very small hole in the condenser, which is mounted in front of the radiator. I expect a stone has hit it at some time.

System needs to be tested with nitrogen before being regassed. Sorry, I don't know any aircon people in your area.

Whoever you choose also needs to do a vacuum test over at least an hour.

It is usually the condensor that leaks.Very often around the lower support pillars that are not easily visible with the unit still attached to the water coolant rad.
