• Volvo - Right Volvo to replace Mondeo 5 Apr 2010 (Forum)
  What's the received wisdom on these two? Only other option is an older, high-mileage Volvo V70, though at under £6k there don't seem to be many D5s which haven't been half way to the moon. I've never had an older, high-miler and wonder whether I'd be buying nothing but regular bills???

  Hi, Looking for advice please. Volvo V40 D2 is only at 7k miles after 12 months but the front tyres (continental) are already down to 3mm even wear. Would this be typical for this make of tyre or could it point to an alignment issue? Many thanks

  Hi all,  I drove my 1998 Volvo s70 200 miles this morning and all journey it never reached normal operating temp.   It drove totally fine but heating took a while to get properly hot.   Is this normal if not what are the consequences of an underheating car?

  Anyone (SjB?) know of how the door wood effect trim surround is removed on the Volvo S60? Is it clipped / screwed / heatstaked on? I am hoping that it is clipped on or screwed on, but has anyone actually removed one? I fancy a change :-) Thanks BB

  Dear All, A Volvo V40 with heated seats. Driver's side works fine. Passengers seat appears to not heat at all. The light on the switch illuminates, and the connections under the seat appear sound and secure. Do elements burn out?

  Hi Folks My vehicle is 2.3l Carb petrol old volvo 740. I get a exhaust baffling sound after i rev and release the aceelerator. Mostly happens under load. Is it serious and what could it be. Thanks for the help

  Our volvo v70 tdi has started to produce excess smoke, even after a hard run it still is puffing out black smoke. Car has been serviced but still does this. It has done only 125,000 miles. Any ideas? it still drives 100%.

  Volvo 740 TD at around 3200 rpm the Turbo Warning Light has started to come on. Does anyone know this model and what the light is implying. I assume it is too much boost rather that too little. Any ideas on the probable cause.

  This is aimed at owners of Volvos with the new D4 VEA diesel engine.  T here seems to be a common problem which affects the engine's exhaust gas recycling (EGR) function.   Several owners of new-ish Volvo S/V60 and XC60 cars with the VEA D4 engine have had the ‘check engine’ light pop up within a few months from new (reported on the Volvo Owner’s Club forums).

  I am considering changing my car in the summer with a budget of about £9-10k. I am currently looking at the volvo s60 d5, honda accord pet/dis, and audi a4 tdi. I suppose i should be looking at 2002/3 examples here. I have spotted many good examples (low miles, FSH) of the volvo but i have a worry about apparent injectors failing on them costing £1500 or so?

  I have just spent a week in New England and was surprised to see how many Volvo 240 and 740 cars existed. Most seemed in excellent condition but I suppose being Volvos they would be. A few BMW's seen but hardly any Mercs. One note of caution to those travelling in the USA and need to use the phones to the UK.

  hi, i have recently posted my problem about my volvo S60 T5 being very camber sensitive. Well, i have taken it into Volvo and had it laser aligned twice, all the alignment is perfect. The tyres are brand new, (pirelli PZero Rosso), I have also measured the Sub-frame and it is in the perfect position.
