    https://www.gov.uk/guidance/e10-petrol-explained Government words "During summer 2021, the standard (or ‘Premium’) petrol grade in the UK will become E10"  E10 is lower octane than E5 Unleaded.  Our household has two auto petrol Honda's, one from 2008 (FR-V 1.8) and one from 2003 (Element 2.4 import). Both have been faultless running on a mixture of E5 and V-Power (more V-Power than E5 generally).  The Gov website advises that both cars will accept E10 without issue, which will be cheaper to buy,  So why am I not interested in changing fuels on two cars which have been totally reliable for years on end.

  No measuring yet, just that while driving the usual way, the fuel needle moves more slowly. What surprised me is that with plain Shell V-power (98 octane unleaded) my Clio was more responsive than with BP Ultimate! But then again, maybe it was just a feeling...   Re V-Power vs BP Ultimate: I use Super Unleaded in my 2004 Jazz (to prolong the life of the engine) and got no better MPG with V-Power - and some instances worse - than running on supermarket unleaded. By contrast BP Ultimate gives me 20-50 miles more per tank.
