  • MINI v's Grande Punto V's MG ZR - help! 5 May 2008 (Forum)
She has her heart set on a MINI again - should never have got rid the first one she had, but thats another story, but after spending all yesterday being hassled by salesmen and trawling every dealership and car supermarket in about 20 mile radius those are the options and I think the MINI may be the wrong one....
  • Mini Countryman All4 Cooper S - Electrical issues 3 Sep 2015 (Forum)
Started it yesterday and lights came on, could not turn off, indicators/hazards, front electric windows not working. Turn off engine lights do not work at all. Booked it in at Mini Garage for end of week but they say they have never come across this problem. Any ideas?
  • Mini 3 door, 5 door or convertible 5 Apr 2015 (Forum)
Just started looking into getting a Mini but am a bit overwhelmed!! It will be mainly used as the second car but cant decide which to get. Mrs would love the convertible but I think the 3 door is more suitable. Any recommendations and is there much spec difference between a One and a Cooper.
  • Mini John Cooper Works - Mixed set of tyres 7 Nov 2013 (Forum)
I bought a used vehicle from a Mini dealer last year that I thought had runflat tyres. It turns out that there were only 2 and they wern't even on the same axle. I understand that this would be an MOT fail so I'm guessing that the car was sold in an unroadworthy condition.
  • MINI - Classic Mini.How do you....... 2 Oct 2008 (Forum)
tell what diff is in it? Let me explain. I used to race a classic Mini in autograss a few years ago,and as the old grey matter isn't what it was,you could tell what diff was in it,by taking the wheel circumferance, and measuring it against,I think, the bottom pulley v the number of revolutions they used to do.
  • Would you buy a Foxtons Mini?? 24 May 2006 (Forum)
I'm reliably informed that the 26 British Racing Green Minis for sale at BCA Nottingham tomorrow are all from the Foxtons Estate Agents fleet. I have always been lead to believe that these cars lead a hard life, as well as having decals plastered over them from new.
  • Mini,Beetle,mk2 Jag What next ? 14 Dec 2001 (Forum)

  • Mini 2006 1.6 - Timing chain noise? 16 Jun 2014 (Forum)
Anyone know of any issues with the base 1.6 model and timing chain wear? I'll also take the usual response of 'minis are rubbish' 'badge snobbery' etc for granted thanks!
  • Austin (Rover) Mini (1972 - 2001) - 1995 1275 mini stripes 30 May 2008 (Forum)
I own a 1995 Mini Cooper in BRG, with 45 k miles and surprisingly rot - free. For some reason, the bonnet is shorn of the Cooper stripes ( the roof and mirrors are white ). I have seen Coopers with a chequerboard pattern on the bonnet and think it looks great.
  • MINI MINI Cooper and S R56 (2007 - ) - Door Mirrors stolen 15 Nov 2007 (Forum)
A colleague at work has recently had the door mirrors stolen from her Mini Cooper S (BMW want £300 parts only). When she informed the police it was the 11th case that weekend in the area so clearly someone was doing the rounds and no doubt these will appear on ebay or similar.
  • HJ Mini tests 19 May 2007 (Forum)
I compared the new/new Mini with the old/new Mini in the showroom, to my eye it looked bloated & just too big. I totted up the cost of options & the whole package seemed more an exercise in 'options trading' (just like 'finance deals' are the real money-spinner for some main dealers) - the base car is made to look almost unattractive, but the options list soon makes the car look overpriced, imho, when compared to the alternatives.
  • New MINI Cooper 27 Jul 2023 (Forum)
Why do MINI or some others have to use the term exhaust why not come up with something original like a electric motor whine.  I feel sure they could start of with a low note and develop it into a high pitch scream.
  • Mini service 24 Jul 2019 (Forum)
Accompanied my daughter into a Mini (official dealer) today for an aircon check. 'Pick it up at 5,30' said the Service Adviser. Daughter's a nurse, and because of shifts asked any earlier please? Reply: waiting is priority in the morning, it won't even go in til the afternoon'.

  • MINI Cooper - Buying second hand 25 Mar 2013 (Forum)
My question is what do I look for are their problems associated with minis of this age, and are the engines good for higher mileage? I am going to try and get one with history, what else should I look out for. Cheers Herald
  • 09 PLATE FIESTA OR 57 PLATE MINI COOPER - WHICH TO CHOOSE? 12 Mar 2011 (Forum)
About to but a car for my wife to run around in - she will probably do about 10000 miles a year and use it mostly for ferrying our 2 grandchildren around.  Have a bit of a quandry - she really likes the new shape Fiesta and the Mini Cooper and can't make up her mind which one to go with - she has driven both and lkes them both !!!  Most of the reviews I have read don't really favour one or the other except for the residual value of the Mini.

  • MINI Cooper R50 (2001 - 2007) - Xenon headlight issue and replacing run flat tyres 9 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Hi. Recently bought a mini, but having some problems. One of my xenon headlights doesn't always work. BMW have put in new bulbs, a new control unit and are now saying I need a whole new headlight. I've already spent nearly £300 and they now want another £300.
  • It isn't all bad news 4 Jan 2007 (Forum)
As part of a flyer about a forthcoming presentation by BMW about the new model MINI, was the following snippet. -----------8<-------- The UK MINI production triangle has plants at Hams Hall, Oxford and Swindon. This has received substantial investment of nearly 200 million to build the new model and to increase MINI production capacity by up to 20%.
  • MINI 16 Dec 2002 (Forum)
We all know what a popular and trendy little car the MINI is and how clever the marketing people are with all the super trendy 'must have'options packages that people fork out extra cash for and how good the MINI/BMW dealers are at sorting out any problems.Overall a major success story.But....can you imagine the disaster if BMW had not been involved and the Rover boys with their special band of dealers had been left to their own devices."
