     The company handles handles an enormous variety of vehicles during the year, with the vast majority being the popular makes and models we all drive from day to day. But with up to 3,000 vehicles being sold every day from its 21 locations, BCA also sees vehicles that are weird, wonderful or just hugely valuable. "This year's big ticket items were a 2006 Bugatti Veyron, which went for £625,000 and a 2008 Rolls Royce Phantom, which realised £195,500," says Tim Naylor at BCA.

    A 45k mile 99T Porsche 911 996 3.6 Carrera 4 convertible sold just below book at £31,250. And a 28k mile 2001X Mercedes SLK 320 6-speed manual (the one that drives like a sports car) sold for a surprisingly low £13,400. A pair of Works MINI Cooper Ss came up among the Porsche part-exchanges. The rather gaudy 7k mile O4 reg red one bid to a provisional £15,900 and the much more tasteful grey and white 6k mile 04/53 reg sold for £15,300.

  • Donington Historic Festival timetable announced 18 Feb 2016 (News)
    The action-packed timetable for the 2016 Donington Historic Festival has been announced. It features 17 races showcasing competition cars from the 1920s to the 1990s, as Donington Park drives back in time over the Bank Holiday weekend- from Saturday, 30 April, to Monday, 2 May. With three full days of racing on offer, spectators can see a mix of grids and cars from lots of different eras, from pre-War to the 1990s.

    Single-seaters head to Donington Historic Festival 22 Apr 2015 (News)
    .  Nelson Piquet and Satoru Nakajima each drove the Camel Lotus/Judd 101/3 back in 1989, with Nakajima driving it to a career-best result of fourth place in the Australian GP. Now that distinctive yellow livery is set to star at Donington Park alongside the Senna Toleman. Other cars sharing the track with them are the ex-Schumacher and Patrese Benetton B193b, which had a very busy 1993 season.  Historic Formula Junior are set for the biggest turnout in recent years, with 69 cars entered for Rounds 2 and 3 of the ‘Silverline’ FJHRA/HSCC UK Championship, to be held at the Festival. The races will feature separate grids for front and rear-engined cars, with two races each.

    There was no stopping Chris Ward in the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy (pre-1956) and Stirling Moss Trophy (pre-1961) sports car races run concurrently at Spa-Francorchamps on 21 September, as part of the Spa Six Hours weekend meeting. The Silverstone Driving Experience chief instructor won both races – with the help of Andrew Smith and John Young, respectively. Oliver Bryant headed the sensational 57-car field in the Friday qualifying session, the BRDC member hurling his 2-litre Lotus 15 round in 2m 54.566s as the younger SMT machines took 11 of the top 12 places.
