BMW Z1 Roadster - Category B write offs 6 Aug 2010 (Forum)
The vehicle was flood damaged in 2006, and the interior required replacing at a cost of £12000. This information was gained from the insurers who paid out on the vehicle. It`s a BMW Z3. After reading through forums, and doing an HPI check, I discovered that the vehicle had been listed as sc***ped, a category B. I was warned that I should not purchase this vehicle by the HPI check. -
BMW E30 318IS - Upgrades? 17 Jan 2010 (Forum)
It has had it's cam chain (M42 engine) changed not too long ago - any help/advice much appreciated as I can't afford BMW servicing! Can anybody recommend any simple brake upgrades that do not involve a ludicrous expense? Finally, just as a point of interest, I cannot recommend this car too highly (apart from on wet roundabouts!) -
BMW 3-Series E46 (1998 - 2005) - interior size 9 Aug 2009 (Forum)
Hi guys I was wondering if someone could help me please, I currently have a VW bora and the rear cabin space is tight for my wife and for my 2 year old who sits in his chair when you recline his chais when sleeping his feet touch the passenger seat infront unless you realy pull that seat forward which makes it uncomfortble for the passenger in front. I wanted to change the car ASAP but realy like the bmw 330d m sport ( as i owned a m3 evo 4 door previously) the drive and smoothness of these cars and engines. what i am struggling with is that the rear cabin size of the e46 330d and e60 530d seem similar? -
BMW X3 E83 SUV (2004 - ) - Urgent advice needed 17 May 2008 (Forum)
The car is left in the same place day in and day out, so it would be quite easy to steal it at a latter date. Should my neighbour head for the nearest BMW dealer to have the locks replaced? What do you think? -
BMW E30 325 - M20 engine problems. 24 May 2006 (Forum)
Hi, I'm posting on behalf of a friend, who is struggling to get his BMW roadworthy again. The head gasket recently failed (believed to be because of a failed head bolt), so had the head skimmed, pressure tested, and rebuilt. The head is now back on, with a complete suite of fresh gaskets, a new water pump, new cambelt and tensioner, and a new thermostat. -

Vehicles and Voting - warning contains politics! 22 Jan 2021 (Forum)
There was an interesting article in Forbes back in October, albeit it is about the USA, concerning what someone's car says about how someone will likely vote. I will post the link below. I suspect the inclinations of BMW drivers across the pond are quite different to our own BMW drivers but I am not certain. https://www.forbes.com/wheels/news/what-your-car-might-say-about-how-you-vote/ Any suggestions for how this compares to Britain? -

If you're going to test-drive an EV or PHEV.... 16 Feb 2020 (Forum)
....it's worth checking in advance that the dealer will have the car charged. You'd think that would be obvious - but not to the salesman I met this morning at a BMW dealer just outside Bristol (I won't name them but you could call the name slightly unfortunate). They had a BMW 225xe available (most dealers don't), and as I like to start a short-list a year or so in advance I arranged a test-drive - only to find that it wouldn't run on electric power. -
Honest John's Motoring Agony Column 01-06-2019 Part 2 2 Jun 2019 (Forum)
AB (Outsize Dept) might want to add the BMW X2 to their list - cheaper than a X3, nicer looking, just as quick, decent handling, though admitedly the visibility isn't as good as the X3. Boot space at 470L is a bit smaller than the previous X3, but not that small. -

3 Series v Octavia 28 Mar 2015 (Forum)
I am due to drive both of them tomorrow and am genuinely open minded as to which to buy with the Octavia cost to us at around £3200 and the BMW around £6500. I am not bothered about the badge (though SWMBO is) and from what I've read I'd be quite happy to take the Skoda but are there any compelling reasons to spend twice as much on a BMW? -
