• Honda Civic - Car won’t start 3 Sep 2021 (Forum)
  When I got back to it, it wouldn’t start. I’m in Manchester and it’s been heavy rain all day. Could it be this? The radio, windows etc were working so battery isn’t totally dead. Ignition was turning over too. I don’t know much about cars but know it could be spark plugs or battery. Is there a chance it will start when it dries out?

  Battery keeps draining. I’ve ensured all poss culprits like lights, windscreen wipers, radio etc haven’t been left on. The only thing I’ve noticed is one of the climate control buttons (the fresh air one I think) has a green indicator light on above it. Could this be draining the battery?

  Hello, I am from the US and I am looking for some parts from the A33 maxima qx (2000-2004). I want to find the dark-colored wood grain trim pieces that go around the radio, center console, shifter, etc. I've tried searching on google and ebay but no luck so far. Can anyone help me find these parts?  Or direct me to a good website (like an online junkyard) that has used parts for sale?

  I find though that My ears are rather sensitive to noise and would like a car where I can listen to spoken radio and podcasts at a low volume on long journeys Any suggestions? Alternatively is it possible to have soundproofing fitted , tyres changed or other measures
• Vauxhall Omega - Battery keeps going flat 21 May 2018 (Forum)
  The battery is continuously going flat. I have checked that the boot light is not faulty, disconnected the radio and cd player. I have started the car & disconnected the battery terminals and even checked the alternator with a amp meter and all seems well. I can sometimes start the car with no problems & then out of the blue the battery is flat.

  Starting yesterday, the side lights now turn on the ignition (first position). So effectively, if my side lights are on, so are my radio, trip computer and electric windows.  I've tried searching everywhere else but can't find anything, nearest I could find pointed towards the gear box earth strap? Any thoughts on this one?

  It's been doing the clicking noise intermittently for a few weeks but has always started.  Today it's a no go :-(  All the engine lights, radio etc work, but it's just not starting.   I thought it was the starter motor, but iI've been googling and believe it could slso be the battery so now I'm all confused :-(

  Hello, I've just bought a Mondeo with reversing camera and have noticed that the rear camera view displayed on the screen flickers and switches between a green screen, the radio display or map display. I've done some searching on the internet and the finger points towards water ingress. I'd like to have a go at accessing it and spraying WD-40 on the connections or replace the camera if necessary.

    As someone whose ' work' involves constant mental challenge, the idea of spending paid worktime cruising the roads of the UK  in a comfortable modern car is appealing. It must be even more relaxing spent stationary in jams listening to the radio. The cost is enormous. Say 20,000m at avr 50mph = 400 person hours at say £10 per hour, plus, say, 30p per mile is a five figure sum!

  Odd problem with my vectra, once every week or two while driving my vectra all of the electrics fail. Lights external and internal, heater, power steering all fail but radio stays on fine. Now when I stop the car all the electrics come back on, start moving again and it all fails.

  However, i was wondering if nissan would be able to install it for me as an extra? My friend has bluetooth installed into the radio system, would this be possible to have installed into my car? Ideally i would like this. Or will i have to buy a gadget such as a satnav with bluetooth facility separately from somewhere like halfords?

  I have just bought a 51 reg Jaguar x Type , It has a phone cradle alongside the radio but the phone is missing. The cradle has two conctions pins sticking up in the bottom ,one is a long one and the other is a short one, Can anyone tell me what carphone I need to replace the missing original . or  what other car phone is compatible with my car, that I could use in place of the original,

      I can also add that the clocks on the dashboard go mad on occasion when accelerating! no true readings just waving needles and flickering lights, including radio volume increase/decrease..     any thoughts or help???

  listening to radio 2 at the moment with 1976 november as the year of choice and got talking about j4 starter motors 4 and a 1/2 inch width bolt to bolt of the time http://tinyurl.com/yj9gox7 they were always thick with grease and the ends gnurled up so you would duck oil them to get another week out of them apparently this starter fitted everything at the time but the v4 ford engine Remember the square end for the quarter?

  Last night when she tried to turn the ignition on there was no power other than a airbag light. After trying the ignition several times it finally came to life when she turned the radio on!. Any ideas?, I guess its electrical which probably means expensive!

  Drove over a bump and ignition light came on, radio stopped working ,mirrors don't work. Ignition light doesn't go out. Battery voltage is 13 volts, start engine and it shows 15 volts. Seems healthy. Fuse number 21 (10 amp) was blown. Replaced but no cure.

  My f-in -law has purchased Vectra with CCR 600 fitted. The CD Changer unit has been removed. Should RADIO/CASSETTE still work? We have tried entering code but manual has knobs that don't feature on the unit. Are replacement changers readily available and reasonably priced? Any help appreciated as we have promised him he shall have music soon.

  This problem is not there all the time, it seems to be 50/50 if its readable or not. The digital display abover the radio is readable but some of the numbers have parts missing. Hope this makes sence and hope someone can help. Thanks.

  Car fob has been working fine for years, then, sitting in the car, the fob did not function. All the electrics worked fine (dials, guages, wipers, radio etc), but red imobiliser light kept flashing and Fob did not de-mobilise. Car would not start. Changed batteries in the fob, but no change. Please could you suggest a remedy? PS Really glad this web-site exists.

  My hdi 90 estate in L spec seems to have lost power to the centre console display: strangely the text is only very faintly visible in daylight and invisible in the dark (that is with the ignition on). The radio/cd is working. I cannot remember if the appearance of this fault coincided, or not, with illumination of the engine management warning light which has been on for the last 3000 miles (holiday motoring).
