  Hi, I recently bought an Isuzu Bighorn (Trooper) import. Does anyone know whether I can put a percentage of pure Veg oil in with the diesel? If so what are the recommended percentages. I would like to make my own biodiesel at home but don't have the space- hence the reason for wanting to add straight shop bought veg oil.

  I want to import a 1998 BMW 316i from South Africa to UK. I have answers to all concerns except the following: I've been told by a dealer in SA that the cost of changing the speedometer and odometer km. to miles as required by DVLCC is 'prohibitive' but they cannot give me any speciifc figure.

  I have just bought a 1996 Toyota Celica Cabriolet, with a 2Litre twin cam 16 valve, automatic, she is a grey import, and I am trying to identify the exact model, is there any way that I can find this detail, for example from the VIN? I have tried searching your archive for this but couldn't see anything any help would be gratefully recieved

  Can anyone help. I have a Toyota 2.2 Turbo Diesel Town Ace 1995 import. There is no brake servo assistance until I have driven for about 2 miles. The servo is not leaking so I suspect the vacuum pump. Can anyone offer me advice on how to overhaul this unit. Thanks KELVIN

  Car supermarkets seem an attractive alternative to main dealers for new cars. However, I notice in the small print that as the cars are imports, they are not necessarily to UK specification. Apart from the obvious differences there might be such as radio spec etc what other differences could there be? For example, is rustproofing likely to be to the same standard?

  I've had a quick look over the car and the bodywork appears to be in great nick, so I may take a test drive. Are there any problems with this model that I should look out for? eg any history of grey imports etc? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  Can anyone recommend a good first car, must be brand new / nearly new and less than £9000. Important considerations are ease of driving, insurance group, MPG, and cost of services. Would prefer a diesel for the above reasons. Is a new Seat Arosa TDi for £8000 good value? Or would another make, model be better?

  But does anyone have any knowledge, experience of getting an MOT (control Technique) in France? I am about to ask for one for my 1995 VW Passat, which is imported into France.   Took my Merc 190E to Halfords/AA today for a "Premier" (12k annual) service and was very pleased with both the price and service (especially the very comprehensive vehicle condition report checklist provided afterwards) I noticed that several other contributors had praised Halfords on their service and it was on this basis that I tried them out. It's important I think to give feedback on the good experiences as well as the bad.

  How important is it that I get my tracking done on my Golf. Every single time I go to get some new tyres at the garage they tell me I should have my tracking done to save on fuel consumption. I`ve heard conflicting reports on whether tracking does owe anything to mass fuel consumption.

  I have recently purchased a Toyota Tundra pick-up from a reputable, long established American car dealer. The vehicle was manufactured in 2003 and imported into the UK from Florida in 2005. Since being imported it has had approximately 3 registered owners, the last being the garage from which I bought it. When inspecting the existing V5C it came to light that the engine size is and since being imported always has had, the engine size incorrectly recorded; I have copies of all relevant paperwork including V5Cs for previous owners and MOTs etc since its importation and copies of much of the paperwork for the 18 months or so it was driven in the USA, including engine number, chassis number and VIN details and everything ties-up.
