  (Recently been told high mileage doesn't necessarily mean that it's a nail as long as it's got good MOT history (absolutely love the MOT checker on the web) Love fords as easy to get parts for but Father in law has had issues with every ford he's had (mainly focus and mondeo (coil packs, munching oil etc) Love pugs too but would prefer diesel although diesels are like rocking horse crap to get hold of. Same with fiestas Micra-heard Nissan are great makes BUT since Renault got involved, loads of issues with electrics? Told K11 best model but as I said, don't want a matchbox on wheels. Not bothered about number of doors as coped perfectly well with 3 doors on polo.

  On Sat 14 Nov 14, I purchased a second hand car from a second hand car dealer in Essex. The vehicle, a Nissan Pathfinder appeared to be in reasonably good order, and although we did not conduct a test drive, the engine sounded fine (to me as a layperson) for a diesel with 93000 miles on the clock. The dealer sold me an enhanced warranty that cost me another £400 above the £8000 already paid.

  Car was towed to the specified body shop for repair by the insurance company. Body work repaired the car was taken to a Nissan dealer who stated no faults were shown in the diagnostics and the engine has a serious fault with no compression on cylinders 1 and 3? Insurers have refused to investigate any further and the car being returned.

  I was just looking at a Nissan leaf, as a possible electric car. (Just picked an electric car at random). Does the range reduce over time?. I noticed one for sale which is about 1/3 charged up, but has a range of 19 mile.

  He makes a claim and the loss adjuster says it’s worth more at say £21k and as such they only paid out for the £17k. Hmm, if I put SWMBOs Nissan Note in as £30k and it gets stolen then I will expect a pay out of that amount! Unless of course the insurance company not only wants their slice of cake, but they want to eat it as well! :-)

  I recently purchased a 2015 Nissan qashqai and I knew it didn't come with a spare wheel I knew one could be purchased for it. The dealer wanted £350 For the wheel tyre and Jack ect. After browsing eBay I have just purchased a supposedly genuine brand new wheel tyre ect for £125.

  HJ did a really positive write up of this great all round SUV Unfortunately all the major mags just don't bother to compare it with the bigger punching manufacturers such as Mazda Nissan and Honda. It has many great features but the most important for many must be that it is narrower and a proper in town car as well as being very capable off road. I think motoring journalists are too fond of the big names.

  The criteria are: Focus-ish size Ultra reliable Ideally under 60K miles - no more than 80K miles I was thinking along the lines of Toyota Corolla / Honda Civic / Nissan Almera - Any others to consider? Any engine options to go for / avoid within the cars selected?

  My old Nissan Bluebird is nearing the end of its life at last, and needs replacing this year. It's only a second car, which gets very light use (to and from work if I don't cycle, and occasional evening trips when the other car is in use), so I'd like something smaller, and I'd like an automatic.

  The Kia Motors advert started consistently crashing IE7 this morning. (All ok when Nissan advert was displayed). Investigation showed I was running version 7 of Flash as an extension to IE7 and removing that and then installing latest version (9) cured all problems. May save some people some time.

  I am thinking about changing the brakes on my mondeo!!!!! I am a dab hand at stuff like that i recently put a new radiator on mum's nissan. Anyway I have a mondeo 1800 on a N plate.   Peugeot are closing shop,rumour on the street in Germany is that Renault and BMW are looking for a place to relocate Nissan and Mini on mainland Europe ,Ford are saying if Land Rover does not improve its curtains and Jaguar are losing money hand over fist.The UK government tried to keep the PSA closure a secret till after the local elections but it was released in both the French and German press.Do you think we will be making cars in ten years I wonder.

  I am keen to ply line my Nissan Primastar van. It's the same body as the Vauxhall Vivaro and the new Renault Trafic. With kits so expensive, when compared to the cost of the materials used, I'm keen to lay my hands on some patterns that I can just staple to the sheet material and then cut around with a jigsaw.
• Micra: coolant temp sender location? 6 Dec 2004 (Forum)
  Where is the coolant temp sender located on a K11 Nissan Micra? The Haynes manual seems to indicate that I should follow the radiator top hose back to the thermostat and the sender is located behind that on the engine block. Can't see any relevant wires, though.

  hello all,,,i have a leak on my 92 auotmatic transmission (nissan 300zx),leaks and smokes on the exhaust,ive got wynns auot/trans stop leak,but cant find anything on the best way to apply it.do you add the wynns then keep topping up with fulid until hopeully leak stops. and i guess you have to drive it around for the wynns to do the job?!

  I was going for either a Ford Mondeo 1.8 auto or a Ford Escort 1.6 auto but after reading posts and reveiws on this site about the gearboxes i'm not sure. The other models on my short list are: Mazda 323 Nissan 100 NX Honda Civic 1.5 LSI What do you all think. Thanks

  Just got a 99 primera 2.0i gx , full history serviced on the dot by nissan dealer last service jan 2003. Ive been reading a lot about using full synthetic oil every 5k so do i just replace whats in it at the moment or wait until its done 5k from last service also whats that engine cleaner stuff like redex i thnk?

  And my last car only had brake pads and new exhaust, tyres, oil and filter changes and went for over 100,000 miles no problems and is still in my garage which I hope to take out of retirement until the nissan can be sold and replaced, what is it I hear you say? A Rover 218 SLD turbo diesal. I was talking to one of the mechanics who told me he has worked for Nissan for 20 years and "would never buy one" makes you wonder doesnt it?
