  I feel like taking a small-claims action against them for the cost of a replacement engine because of there reluctance to address an underlying issue. The inconvenience you go through when it's off the road (try getting a hire car with a tow bar ..?). Banging another turbo on every 8K miles until the warranty runs out & then trying to wash their hands of it surely cannot be right. I would like to keep the vehicle quite a lot longer (it drives beautifully), if anyone can give me some advice as I don't want to be forking out for huge bills after next April I would appreciate it.

I need to tow a caravan  sometimes and get my dogs in the boot.  Priorities are reliability comfort and decent drive with enough guts to overtake decently. Saloon/estate or SUV    Budget about 12k Open to suggestions as struggling  I have shortlisted with thoughts suzuki vitara.. but small?

  Electrician friend said it would stil turn over if that was the case but just wouldnt start. Eventuall got it recovered and towed to a local garage. They did a diagnostic check and said a list of faults are showing yet before I took it for a battery change there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I dont want a garage to rip.me off by saying this that and the other is wrong when its obviously something to do with the battery being disconnected for a while.

  Mid November I got a new water pump put on my car and had the cambelt changed at the same time, just before Christmas on my way home the DPF light comes on, nearly home and my car revs up and raced forward like the accelerator is stuck on, the revs came down however then revved up again at which point I turned the car off and pulled over. The car then wouldn’t start again as if it had a flat battery with the ticking noise. Towed it too the garage, who asked when I last put oil in, I said not for a while the level has always been alright. They said no it appears to have been overfilled. Basically they’re trying to tell me the car tried to regen itself but failed so ended up dumping the excess diesel into the oil sump.

  I need something that the sitting position is high and as near to a normal seat sitting position as possible due to an op ive had I have 3 children, 2 of whom are in car seats and one who is a teenager so needs to be wide enough for all 3 to be seated comfortably so really a flat back seat with no foot hump I have a dog so need to get a cage in the boot I tow a 1500kg caravan regularly so needs this capability Needs to be as economical as possible So.....there is my dilema and exhaustive shopping list ??   When I turn off my engine and re-start it it sometimes seems to be fine, other times it has the ABS light on and on one occasion it wouldn't start for 2 hours and the AA guy had to tow it to my local garage as he said it wouldn't even turn over. I'm based in Manchester and not sure who to take it to. Do I take it straight to Vauxhall or will they rinse me? I've already paid £40 on it for a Diagnostics report to be done  (in which they found no issue & reset all systems).

  I have only done 7000 km since buying it 13 months ago. It  lost all 2nd/4th/Reverse gears, so got it towed into our Skoda dealer. I received a call today to say that the Mechatronic unit was gone (1660 Euro) & that I may also need to have the clutches replaced (1390 Euro). Although just out of warranty, Skoda would not even consider going some way towards the acknowledgement of a problem......even after only 41000 km of driving - ie 'Skoda do not expect a DSG 7-speed to last beyond 41000 km???

  Before all of this, the EPC light was on and my accelerator was also really weak, my dad was driving it to take it to be fixed and the car stopped on the way had to be towed. I paid around £450 that time around, last week £100 and now it's on again I just don't know what to do? This is my first car and I know very little on warning lights and cars for the matter and I've only had the car for 3 months I just don't know whether to take it back to be fixed for the light to just come on again?

  Christmas shopping in Lidl car park yesterday, 11.15am, while inside shop a man got in the Land Rover and female accomplise in a van hooked up to our Landy and towed it out of the car park not 10 yds from the Lidl huge front windows and tills in board daylight in front of all.  Our irreplacable cherished family vehicle gone in the most brazen way. Police are being superb and we're doing all we can pursueing various avenues but hold out little hope as everyone knows what happens to stolen Defenders.

  Hi all Trying to find out whats wrong with my motor Using the car as taxi, lot of town driving , no motorway sometimes for weeks First the lack of powerat around 75k miles, felt like the turbo was held back, kept on driving anyway, two weeks later, big "exhaling" sound as it can be from an engine and just stopped. Towed, although when cooled could be started again. Into Vauxhall, changed manifold and dpf and they said I had a lot of excess oil. Genuine manifold, aftermarket dpf. Since then, when regening, huge blue smoke comes out and doing the process for way too long and sometimes too often and excessive oil builds up Could it be that some kind of seal gave in, when I was driving for too long without turbo and in the mean time the dpf clogged up, so maybe the pressure that built up for these reasons just led the weakest seal to break?

  Absolutely no response from the engine  The garage came round and thought maybe low battery, so changed that, then changed it back. Immobilised and local garage not able to tow. Local mini services says they will look if I get it to them. Everyone flummoxed as to the cause of the problem....anyone any ideas?  (unfortunately I have lost 2nd key, so only one fob) At the moment am sitting with an immobilised car in front of our house, with no one local able to help.....anyone had a similar problem
