Ford Focus Estate - Auto '07' - Cut out - Worked when battery disconnected 24 Sep 2011 (Forum)
The lights, radio and other electrics were all working. Called out my break down company. Mechanic checked the battery - Nil problems. He disconnected the battery and plugged back in and it worked. I phoned an auto electricians today to look at it, but they felt it is more of a mechanical issue. Someone at work had a similar problem with an immobiliser. -

Audi A3 + S3 (1996 - 2001) - 97 1.6 Curious starting problem 11 Aug 2009 (Forum)
If I try to start it immediately after switching off, it won't turn it at all. In the morning, I checked the voltage across the battery terminals in situ, with the ignition off, and it was only 12.1V, checked again with the engine idling, and it was about 14.4V, so I decided the battery was on its last legs (it's just over 5 years old) and replaced it. -
Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 99 1.8 Weird Electrical Problem 10 Jun 2009 (Forum)
When i turn the key in the ignition several lights should come on for a few seconds, e.g. Airbag Light, etc and also the battery light should illuminate until the engine is started. For some reason my battery light no longer comes on when i turn the key, whats even more weird, is that my electric windows, and clock light dont work either. -
Citroen Saxo (1997 - 2003) - VTR dead battery & when bump started erratic revs 9 Nov 2007 (Forum)
I repeated exercise bump starting it a couple of times and again same problems. It was only serviced a while ago and has full Citroen SH. If it was just the battery dying then it would at least run ok when it was bump started wouldn't it ? Nothing appears to have been left turned on in the car to discharge it by the way. Any advice would be appreciated. -

Kia Venga - Radio no power 18 Nov 2021 (Forum)
Recently bought 2nd hand Kia venga and all was fine. But the battery was changed as part of the deal. Now the radio doesn't work, at all. Everything else is fine but there is no power to the radio and no where to input a code. I was wondering if any wires get connected directly in to the battery compartment or anyone else had similar experiences. -

EVs in a crash 20 Jan 2021 (Forum)
Thinking about the evolution of crumple zones, side-impact bars etc, I started wondering what effect the large heavy battery of an EV has, compared with a traditional fuelled vehicle where the main mass is nearly always at the front. Is an EV's battery where a fuel tank would normally be - and if so, is it not going to cause chaos if a car meets a stationary object ? -
Vauxhall Omega - Locked Out! 30 Oct 2019 (Forum)
I remotely deadlocked and set the alarm on my 1998 Omega as per usual last night. This morning I was unable to open it. It appears that the car's battery has failed (alarm light not blinking) and because of this you cannot use the key to get into the car. Surely there must be a way of opening the car so that I can charge/change the battery? -

I Have A Question - Volume 79 19 Jun 2005 (Forum)
My wife and I are off to China in October, but her digital camera has its own rechargeable battery. I'm sure one of the extremely nice correspondents on this forum can tell me what kind of electrical sockets are to be found in China so we can buy an appropriate adaptor to charge up the battery.
