back brakes 97 Accord 23 Feb 2005 (Forum)
how can you tell when your back brakes are worn? Over the weekend a screeching metallic noise became frequent from the nearside of my Accord and only happened under braking. Noticed the handbrake was quite weak too and when applied under drive could cause the noise. -
Cruise control and the right foot. 25 Oct 2002 (Forum)
I tried to gentle rest it on the brake pedal but this felt uncomfortable after about 10 mins (brake pedal set higher than the accelerator?) plus, I don't know if this was activating the brake lights. Anyone any sensible suggestions? -

Volkswagen Polo III - Brake disc badly corroded 29 Sep 2019 (Forum)
At the last MOT (November) I had an advsisory that the front brake discs showed evidence of corrosion but not serious enough to fail. Due to problems with the health of my mother I only got around to replacing them yesterday and boy am I glad I did. The brakes have evidently got much worse since the MOT was carried out and to be fair they still worked OK, although I had noticed a slight tailing off in their sharpness recently. -

Laguna 2 dci tourer - spongy brakes- after changed front pads. 5 Mar 2012 (Forum)
-which always worked fine on other cars. But,when i did the passenger side, some brake fluid squirted from behind piston rubber dust shield as it went home. This has never happened on any other car brakes I've done before.(Both pistons retracted slowly and evenly) now when I press the brake pedal hard it goes to the floor slowly when the car's running .It stays solid when engine is off. -
Ford Mondeo - Mondeo 1999 1.8TD Brake Travel Problem - Weird 22 May 2011 (Forum)
Pumping the brakes bring it back to normal. If the accelerator is blipped, either driving or sitting at neutral, the brake pedal drops drastically in terms of where the brake point is. Servo has been tested as per the suggested Haynes manual method i.e. cvaccum is fine. -
Ford Fiesta (1995 - 1999) - 97 1.25 Vibration at speed/when braking 8 Jul 2009 (Forum)
s side front wheel that gets faster as speed increases. It?s like a short scraping/clicking. I?ve had the wheel off and seems to me like the brakes are binding a little when I spin the disc. There?s no play in the inner and outer cv joints. My own diagnosis would be: 1. Wheel balance 2. Warped brake disk Is there anything else that could be causing this? -
Mazda 323 - Knocking sound on braking 20 Jun 2006 (Forum)
The car doesn't have ABS, I got the brake pads (not discs) changed by Mazda last October. I've checked the tyres for stones etc., so I don't think it's anything caught in a tyre. Would wearing brake discs (I'm assuming it's not the pads as they're quite new) be the likely culprit? -
Micra MOT fail: repair or sell? 19 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Had a front shunt last year, I replaced the appropriate panels and kept on driving. It chugs along OK, brakes and steering seem OK. It has just failed its MOT and requires quite a lot of work: 1) Nearside rear brake pipe corroded 2) Offside rear brake pipe corroded 3) Front to rear brake pipe corroded 4) Brakes imbalanced 5) Front chassis box section damaged -- requires welding. 6) Advice -- bowed door; door lock not fully engaging. -
