  I want to put some NGK spark plugs in my BMW E30 320i 1990 but don't know which one's to use, does any one know?

  Sorry, bit of a scroller ...  I tried a BMW 3 Series M Sport 320i 2017.  I can only describe the steering as horrible.  Far too light, not responsive and no feedback at all.  I was told it has EPS, so I looked this up and felt very sad.

  There’s a huge mileage discrepancy on our car purchased 2 years ago, that’s only just come to light. We've verified the figures by contacting BMW (they are not the dealership we bought the car from) to get the electronic service history (not supplied to us previously) and unfortunately they are correct. I looks to have been clocked by 120k miles just before its first MOT.

  I plan on keeping the vehicle for many years and so i want it to be as reliable as possible and given its a BMW any jobs are not necessarily going to be cheap. I am a bit of a numbers geek and use the bimmertool app coupled with a bluetooth v-link in the ODB2 port so can see everything that the ECU sees.

  This evening on the way home I was following a car and a horse box towed by a Land Rover. I overtook the car and was tailgated during the overtake by a muppet in a high end BMW. I pulled in behind the horse box. A few minutes later I overtook the horse box, and as before I was tailgated by the BMW. We were approaching the apex of a hill, and as I pulled in he overtook me.

    I did inform him that I would be booking the car in within 2 weeks of purchase to be looked over by a BMW specialist and I have just collected it tonight, much to my purses dismay!  The garage has looked over the car and informed me that it hasn't been recently serviced a s told  and is actually 7000 miles over it's service due date, some other minor things, that I expected, nothing's perfect.

  He was going to M&S, said do you want a lift, so I said yes as I needed to pick up something for lunch. He has a BMW 4 series, and he claims it does 0-60 mph in 4 seconds. Anyway, we were on a dual carriageway at the Fareham junction south of the M27, and he accelerated very rapidly, then went round a filter lane at an incredible speed before joining the M27.

  The issue is that both the Merc and the BMW are only available in diesel (the BMW is theoretically available in petrol, but try finding one and the CLS63 AMG is excluded because it is not approved for towing), and I don't do a high mileage, around 100 miles a week to work, hence I am concerned about the dreaded DPF issue and MPG is not really an issue.

    I don't ant to use launch control either because it'll wheelspin and I'll probably damage somethign using it constantly. So does anyone know if BMW's DCT does the same annoying thing or can it jump off the line just as well as a manual can? I know it's quicker 0-60 technically but I suspect that's due more to quick gear changes than jumping off the line quicker - I suspect it's slower at that end.

  I bought a 2012 BMW Z4 from Ridgeways, now Marshalls, in Bournemouth as a birthday present for my wife on 30th June 2016. Within a month I complained of excessive corrosion, non-working air conditioning and incorrect mileage stated on their sales order form.

  I have considered a 250CGI but I know it will be underpowered. I had had an Audi A6 which I had to do a run and currently have a BMW 5 touring diesel which in 1 year I've had to call Bmw out to clean out a valve, which worked. I have been told by Mercedes that a light will come on and then it has to go into Mercedes for a re-generation.

  Maybe then the engine had switched off to prevent it lunching itself. Have you heard of this before with the Steptronic box. The BMW dealer has no ideas.  Should I contact an automatic transmission specialist near Manchester?

  In 2007 we bought a BMW X5 from a local car dealer we were friends with. Not long after we had it, things started going wrong, battery, electrics, catch on boot, etc......this soon lead to major things like, gas suspension, drives, fuel pumps etc.

  Some advice would be most appreciated?. I am in the market for a car. Went to look at a BMW 530i sport. Considering it was a Y plate car, it was very well presented, almost totally rust free. The paperwork was okay, and seemed to have been regularly serviced, although it seemed to have missed a brake fluid change one of the designated intervals.

  About 3 weeks ago I replaced both rear tyres on my BMW 323i touring with a new set of Avon ZV3's. When I drove down my local dual carriageway there was a vibration from the back, pervading the whole car and through the feet. I took the car back to the tyre dealer and had them rebalanced.

  i have noticed that the rover 75 diesel uses a similar.. if not the same engine as this, although mine i believe was the earlier/earliest 320d around, believing that it is not electrical and therefore cannot use the latter model turbo.. are they still specific to particular mood Mr Bmw decided to fit to him when he was building my car? or could i slap a random one off of a rover 75/ freelander T4 or any other thing i could find which would widen my search on the ebay home page?!

  When it comes to colour choice, black or some sort of metallic silver, grey or blue seems the obvious default choice from the somewhat limited BMW palate (compare with Audi or Volvo) - it's what everyone else has after all. But the other half quite fancies deep green, having decided that all these, together with gold, burgundy et al were definitely out.

  My 1999 BMW 528 has particularly distinct hot ticking exhaust noise. This happens both once the engine is off for some considerable time (20 minutes), but also there's audible hot ticking noise when the engine is idling, and it's noticeable when driving with the window open in a confined area such as a car park, or driving alongside a wall.

  Hi all, if any of you have seen my recent thread in Technical Matters, you'll know why I'm asking this! :-) Could someone please let me know what the current Glass's or Cap value is on a 1996 BMW 316i SE with A/C ilo Sunroof? Also, does anyone have any guestimate as to how much an engine for one of these would normally go for from the breakers? Basically we've been informed that it's not likely to be economical to repair our current enigne, we know the car also needs 4 new tyres and an exhaust so we're very tempted to get shot of it altogether.

  Hi BMW 318 1999 model 47,000 kms Car started to suffer from steering wheel wobble/shimmy at 50 -60 mph so took car to local tyre place, changed the two front tyres Bridgestones, had them balanced and also had the alignment checked, balancing was out but alignment ok, chap said steering dead straight.
