  The vehicle I am interested in has no V5. The current owner says he bought it at auction as it was being sold by a finance company (a re-po). It has been HPI'd and has come up clean. Is it straightforward to get a V5 or should I be aware of other problems? Advice please.

    Can he stop paying the monthly finance? - for the finance company to take the car and call it quits or will they still come after him? Currently, the used car dealer has advised us to go back to main VW and try and persuade them to offer a repair under goodwill?

  Can anyone tell me why a salesman AND the dealer manager, in a major dealership in a large town, haven't a clue how to process contract hire forms? And what's more, never thought to ring the finance company to ask? As a result I've got an extra £150 worth of accessories, so I shouldn't grumble.   He has now been advised by a friend that under the Consumer Credit Act, as he has paid more than 50% of the new value of the car in installments, he can tell them he doesnt want the car any more and give it back to them and not pay the £10250. So with this third option, are there any other implications (legal) other than making the finance company a bit upset?! If he does this, does he have to notify them before the lease runs out, ie. within the next 2 weeks? Any advice much appreciated, Rich.

  I’ve recently terminated my pcp and purchased my vehicle. I have a letter from Audi Finance confirming this. Do I have to inform the DVLA that I am now the legal owner or is it only interested in the vehicle’s registered keeper? Thanks.

  At the time I bought it I did do a basic hpi check to ensure it had'nt been stolen, written off...etc but crucially I did'nt do the outstanding finance check as I was buying from a large company that had been around since 1985. Obviously at this time my heart sank and was in shock. I rang strata but the telephone number had been disconnected.

  At that time Toyota had a promotional offer of a free Toyota "Touch and Go" system on all new Yaris ordered between 1st July and 30th Nov 2011....as a move to promote the new Yaris as well as Toyota's new Touch and Go system. Toyota was also offering a 6.9% APR PCP finance (with 2 free services) through AccessToyota at that time..the offer of a free Touch and Go system was NOT linked to the finance offer and anyone (irrespective of whether you take the finance or not) was being offered a free Touch and Go System My car has now arrived (after 2 months) and at this time Toyota Financial services is offering a choice to new customers to either take the 6.9% APR offer (with 2 free services) or 0% APR offer (no free services) as I believe a lot of customers are taking the 6.9% offer and cancelling it within 2-3 months ( as soon as the free servicing vouchers arrive) My dealer is forcing me to pay 500 pounds for the "Touch and Go" system if I choose to take the 0% APR offer.
