2003 CR-V iVTEC petrol - Almost stalls at idle then recovers and repeats 15 Apr 2018 (Forum)
Just got an EML on the dash. Thought it might just be related to a bad start (didn't hold key long enough) but even after a drive light on and symptoms as above. Drives fine Think it might be the idle control valve but open to other ideas and does anyone know how much of a job it is? Cheers! -

Skiing in France ? 17 Dec 2015 (Forum)
Driving to the south of France just after Christmas to do some skiing and sightseeing; fun drive in a day, via EuroTunnel ! - anyone got any advice who's been there : 1. Cheap place to stay ! Some of the chalets are mega-expensive, and there's only 2.5 of us... looks like it's cheaper to stay somewhere down the mountains... 2. -
Policing By Computer 9 Dec 2015 (Forum)
Looking at my and friends' local papers, apart from drink driving, most of those prosecuted seem to have been caught by camera (speeding, bus lane, etc.) or IT (untaxed, uninsured,etc.). There are a few mobile phone offences that does not reflect the number of people I see driving and using phones (often school run!) -
New tyres 29 Jun 2015 (Forum)
This has probably been done to death before and, if so, I apologise but could somebody who knows what's what please advise of the correct driving procedure immediately after new tyres have been fitted. I have a Mazda 6 2.0litre and have had new front and rear tyres fitted this last week. Is it necessary to 'drive them in'? If so, how? There seems to be a lot of contradictory advice on various websites. Thanks in advance. -

First Sign of Winter 31 Aug 2014 (Forum)
One chap down the Street with a Suzuki SX4 is one of the habitual "let the car idle on the drive for 20 minutes before driving" types. This morning he was just getting it out of the garage as we walked passed and 30 minutes later its still sat there idling happilly away. Totally unbelieveable. -

1998 Ford Puma - Whining noise 27 Jun 2013 (Forum)
Road speed related rather than engine speed (sounds the same if you coast in neutral), but sounds much the same (ie same "note") whatever speed. If it was rear wheel drive I'd say it sounded like the differential but presume front drive cars don't have them. Not a wheel bearing. Any ideas gratefully received. -
Skoda Superb - Tyres 19 May 2013 (Forum)
I am generally pleased with my car except that the front tyres are down to 2mm after only 14,000 miles even though I drive rather sedately. It came with Continental Sport Contact 2 205/55R 16 94V fitted. Can anyone suggest a long lasting tyre? I do not drive faster than 70mph or require particularly good performance in road holding or traction -

change of ownership - DVLA 17 Jul 2012 (Forum)
Is there a plan to make anyone registering a car provide details of their driving licence and proof of insurance? I know that proof of insurance is required for a new car first registration, and for taxing a car at change of ownership, but a friend here on holiday says that in switzerland the driving licence is required too. -

Hyundai ix35 27 Mar 2012 (Forum)
Those who read this column regularly will know I'm trying to find a car to accomodate 3 children in the back without paying the earth, and without saying goodbye to the pleasure of driving and economy. I've never owned a Hyundai, but I like the look of the ix35, the reviews and the fact I can get 3 kids in the back. I'd buy one now, but for the drive, which reminds me of acquaplaning in a 205. -
economical, reliable car for £5000? 27 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Hi all I need a secondhand car. I don't want to spend much more than about £5000 because I drive 80 miles a day so it's not worth it. But, I need something very reliable in all weather and which does 55+ mpg (diesel obviously). It is 80% motorway driving too, the mpg needs to be possible at realistic speeds (70-75mph).
