• Micra not start after 2 days of non-use 22 Nov 2002 (Forum)
  I have an R reg nissan micra which, if I haven't driven it for 2 days or so, refuses to start. It's turning over but not catching. Doesn't seem to be dampness or battery as this has been happening in summer also. Anything to do with fuel tube?

  I've been debating between a Nissan Note and a Honda Jazz. I generally prefer the appearance of the note but the MOT history might throw me off. The consistent advisories are concerning me. MOT History: Date Tested: 31 October 2017 - PASS Advisories Front registration plate deteriorated but not likely to be misread cracked (6.3.1d) Sub-frame rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement all front (2.4.G.2) exhaust system deteriorated & rear clamp missing Nearside Front Lower Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.2) both rear coil springs corroded Date Tested: 27 October 2017 - FAIL Reasons for failure Offside Front Lower Suspension arm has excessive play in a ball joint (2.4.G.2) Advisories Front registration plate deteriorated but not likely to be misread cracked (6.3.1d) Sub-frame rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement all front (2.4.G.2) exhaust system deteriorated & rear clamp missing Nearside Front Lower Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.2) Offside Front Lower Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.2) both front tyres on 2.5mm both rear coil springs corroded Date Tested: 12 May 2016 - PASS Advisories n/s wiper split but clearing screen Nearside Headlamp deteriorated but light output not reduced (1.7.5a) Offside Headlamp deteriorated but light output not reduced (1.7.5a) Nearside Front Lower Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.2) Offside Front Lower Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.2) vehicles rear brakes have slight uneven application

  I was asked to look over a 54,000 mile 2003 998cc Nissan Micra K12 at a small dealer's for a cousin of mine. Drives well, feels and sounds like a 54,000 mile car. There were a few small issues which the dealer sorted, but my suspicions were raised as, once he had the deposit, he seemed extremely keen to get it off his hands, to the point of delivering it 25 miles to my house.

  My current car is a 14 year old Nissan Primera  (P12) hatchback. It has served me well. However, I have got the dreaded engine warning light. Garage struggling to fix it.  The Primera is a very comfortable car and a joy to drive, even though it is 14 years old.

  I'm kind of out of ideas now unless the aftermarket MAF that was put in is faulty or the throttle body is on it's way out - note, this is the later Bosch system that began in Sep 2000 when this car was first bought (hence the odd connector for the oxygen sensor which was used for 4 months by Nissan). Any help or ideas appreciated please? :)

  Hello, i am in the proccess of buying a used vehicle and i would like your advice!I am between a 2004 Nissan Almera 1.8 (gasoline powered 4 speed automatic with 55.000 Km on the clock and price 6.300 Euros) and a Toyota Prius (any year between 2005 and 2009 and price from 12.000 to 15.000 Euros). The Almera has very good reliability ratings,but,on the other hand,is quite expensive on fuel (i think that this is the case,since it is a 4 speed torque converter automatic fitted to a 1.8 liter engine) and tax (here...in Greece... gasoline has a price of -approximately-1.50 Euros per liter (and it is predicted that its price will rise even more),the annual tax of a 2004 conventional car with a 1.8 liter engine is 252 Euros (this is the data for 2010,as nobody knows what its going to happen the following year...)

  Any comment helps, positive or negative. Comment from Michael R would be especially useful as you run one. Current 1995 Nissan QX running cost is 28 p per mile, inclusive of all cost (inc. car mats, polish, etc.), after 30k miles. From my previous calculation, a de-fleeted Mondeo will be at 19-20p per mile, keeping it for 5-6 years.

  So disappointing to learn BMW plan to cease production of the electric Mini in the UK and transfer manufacturing to China. But surely Nissan , Moke and hopefully Toyota will need this essential component ?

  I have just done my morning run up the M6.  I saw a Nissan GT-R being towed and it made me laugh a bit (early morning schadenfreude). I think I'd be very cross if I'd spent over £70k on a car to have it conk out just after Lancaster. Anyone else seen anything amusing on towed?

  Has anyone had any dealings with renaults latest diesel engine the 2.0 dci. Theyre website say that it was co-developed with nissan. Seen a late 07 renault megane GT 2.0 dci 150 for sale although being a renault puts me off, but i hear things have improved alot in recent years??

  My brother is contemplating changing his 04 Nissan Primera 2.2 DCi for an 06 Signum Elite 1.9 CDTi. It looks well in black with half tinted glass. Does anyone have experience of these? Are they reliable and a good buy? His Primera has been excellent but is hitting 100k and they are no longer in production.

  Hello Chatting to a mate the other night, we were trying to list all the 2WD pick-ups available in the UK new. We came up with these. Mitsubishi L200 Ford Ranger Mazda B2000 Nissan Pick-up Proton Jimbuck Are there any others? they must be the lower 2WD versions, not double cab 4x4 ones. TIA

  Does anybody know if there is any easy way to remove the sheer-bolts on a P-reg Nissan Micra's ignition lock, please? Also the steering wheel seems to be jammed on. Do I need to buy a special puller or is there any easy way around this? My Haynes manual says not strike the wheel.

  Can anyone shed any light on the differance between the Dodge Ram and Dodge Dakota,I have only ever seen a Ram in the flesh,but the Dakota seems to be alot cheaper,as I have only seen pictures of the Dakota,is it a smaller version of the Ram,or is it still a fairly big truck like a Nissan Navara or Toyota Amazon thanks.

  I'm quite interested in a Nissan Almera Tino 1.8SE+ that a smallish 2nd hand dealer has near me. It's low mileage for year (19k, 2001Y) but seems a bit overpriced at 6k. Anyone got any advice on knocking them down a bit? Or is that about right?
