New speed camera locations I 16 Mar 2004 (Forum)
Just received a email saying the M27 now has SPECS speed cameras. They went operational on the 4th November. The whole section of the M27 between Junc 11 (Fareham) and Rownhams Junc 2 is covered. The Cameras are set to trigger at 78MPH+. Unforunatley this is my daily commute (Bournemouth to Fareham) so I will have to watch my speedo from now on (instead of the road). -
The Speed Camera Thread - volume 3 7 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Between the start of the motorway and coming off onto the M62 heading east there where over 60 small cameras on poles about 5 meters tall. They seemed to be spaced at intervals of a couple of hundred meters, all of them pointing in the direction of travel. Does anyone know what this mass of cameras is for? -

Any - In car cameras 24 Mar 2015 (Forum)
Can anyone recommend a brand of camera for in-car use. There seems to be a lot of cheap ones around on auction sites at the moment, just wondering if they are any good. I want one that records as soon as engine has started and stops when switched off, with a reasonable picture. -
More speed cameras planned for UK roads. 23 Apr 2009 (Forum)
From "The Daily Telegraph": http://tinyurl.com/csbzm8 "As part of a 10-year strategy to make Britain's roads "the safest in the world", the "time over distance" cameras that measure a car's average speed over many miles are also set to be introduced en masse." -

N/A - Jenoptik Vector SR Speed Camera 20 Mar 2025 (Forum)
Hi all, Got a question about the Vector-SR Spot Speed Camera. I’ve been reading conflicting information about these cameras and would like to know if someone can clear it up for me. Some state these are only speed cameras using radar to catch speeding, and once caught the images or video footage can be used to check for secondary offences like no seatbelt or phone usage. -
Cashreg.wav as speed camera alert! 30 Oct 2005 (Forum)
Most appropriate I thought and it's now copied to the PDA and used by the CheckPOInt speed camera plugin for TomTom 5.1! For those of you not familiar with CheckPOInt, visit http://checkpoint.oabsoftware.nl/ -
Any - Traffic Light Camera or Sensor? 6 Sep 2017 (Forum)
Bad of me I know but I was honestly there for 10 minutes before making this call. Does anyone know if the round black thing on top of the traffic light is a sensor or a camera? Im worried it's a camera and that I should be expecting a penalty and points. Any help would be great thanks! -
m6 spec speed camera's 21 Mar 2010 (Forum)
hi went up and down the m6 the other weekend manchester to swindon, passing through quite a number of spec controlled roadworks. i kept to the signed limit but was surprised how many drivers were driving at well over the signed limit. do they know something others don't or do they not know what spec camera's are or do they not have the self control to drive at the stated limit. some must have been at well over 70 mph. also, is the changing lanes so that the different camera's cannot catch you correct or is that a myth or does that actually work. -

Swindon - No More Fixed Cameras 1 Aug 2009 (Forum)
After the news yesterday, that Swindon is to stop the use of their fixed speed cameras, but continue with police mobile units, there was an interesting follow-up on BBC Teletext. Apparently stopping the use of their 5 Cameras will save them £250,000 a year out of their £320,000 road safety budget! -
Speed Camera Thread Volume 48 [Read Only] 9 Oct 2008 (Forum)
I've seen about 3 on the South Circular (A205) near Catford in London Borough of Lewisham (The world capital of speed humps). They appear to be temporary arrangement of a very small camera on top of a 5m plus high thin steel / aluminium post fixed by straps to a lamp-post. At the base is a metal box well padlocked and chained to the foot of aformentioned lamp-post. The cameras face along the road presumably to observe traffic. -
Defective camera? 7 Jun 2007 (Forum)
You can see that the flashing has started to distract drivers who are going well within the limit as they think that they have set it off (it flashes as the cars have just passed the last road marker line). Do cameras do a self-test and flash at nothing? -
Arizona discovers what we alraedy know 1 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Traffic Cameras are an NLE ( Nice Little Earner) Scottsdale, AZ conducted a nine-month experiment of using photo-radar cameras on Loop 101 freeway to catch speeders. The experiment apparently was a success, as the city council just voted 5-1 to turn the cameras back on, The Arizona Republic reports. -
Red light camera flashed me! 16 Apr 2013 (Forum)
I was travelling towards the M3 in a 70 limit. The lights changed, I slammed on the brakes and came to a stop a few feet over the line. The camera flashed twice, probably showing that I was in the same place on both photos. Do you think I will get done? Thank you!
