m6 spec speed camera's - focusman

hi

went up and down the m6 the other weekend manchester to swindon, passing through quite a number of spec controlled roadworks. i kept to the signed limit but was surprised how many drivers were driving at well over the signed limit. do they know something others don't or do they not know what spec camera's are or do they not have the self control to drive at the stated limit. some must have been at well over 70 mph.

also, is the changing lanes so that the different camera's cannot catch you correct or is that a myth or does that actually work.

Originally you could change lanes, now you can't 2 cameras can easily scan all 3 lanes.

The M6 specs weren't on last time I went through, some say not in use, and they may not be on unless work is actually taking place. [EDIT: I refer to the ones between Jn 16-21]

I regularly go through them at 70. Not had a ticket yet.

I cruise through at 59 on the speedo, 54 on TomTom.

What really annoys me is the dirvers doing just under 50 on the speedo, sub 45 true speed who insist in sitting in the outside land with clear lanes on their left!

We have them on the M3 too. and like yours are ignored by many. I try the changing lane bit but not sure if it works. I try to stick to speed limts in a vain one man attemt to bankrupt the camera people. If they never catch anyone they might just go away....I also think I will win the lottery and be invited out by Uma Thurman who will tell me I'm irresistible.
