Driven Tonight 31 Mar 2002 (Forum)
For those who didn?t watch, it consisted of Jason switching off the electronic traction devices. He then drove each car like Steve McQueen on steroids through aircraft hangars, a covered passageway and out onto the airfield in the usual opposite locking , tyre smoking manner that prospective purchasers of this type of limousine will obviously demand. -
Yesterday, all my troubles ... 30 Mar 2002 (Forum)
It had a green cover. Despite the title it had quite a bit of off-track coverage, e.g. it was a good source of adverts for veteran/vintage/ PVT cars. If I remember rightly, the editor was one Bill Boddy. He was an enormous fan of the Beetle (the real one not the current cash-in) and his enthusiasm must have been worth £thousands to VW. -

Car return: Refund agreed but dealer says they have no money 5 Jun 2022 (Forum)
Hi all. I bought a car from what seemed to be a reputable uk dealer. It was a remote purchase, so covered by distance selling regulations. Basically I decided not to keep the car and we agreed for me to return it in exchange for a refund. -
BMW 325 - Dealer not settling finance 17 Jan 2018 (Forum)
Can anyone help me? I part exchanged a car with outstanding finance on it, but the part-ex offer more than covered the outstanding finance. My finance company sent a copy of the settlement details to the dealer the deal was they pay the finance off. -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 99 1.6 Knocking from nearside front - urgent? 29 Jul 2014 (Forum)
The problem is that I cannot be without my car until next week though I do not need to use it for any journeys over 10 miles. I've been meaning to replace the car with something newer for some time (laziness!) so I'm not looking to own the car for anything more than another 2 months or so. -
Peugeot 3008 - Best way to extend warranty 12 Jul 2012 (Forum)
Each time the fault has been engine related, and has been repaired under warranty. Not a great record for a nearly new car I know :-( The warranty expires in Feb 2013, a few months away, and we are considering selling it before then. What is the best way to extend the warranty if we decide to keep it? Whose independant warranties cover most issues, whose include roadside recovery? -
When did Euro III become mandatory in the UK? 3 Dec 2009 (Forum)
I am looking for a car to buy for someone to export and register in Serbia. In order to register a car in Serbia, it must be Euro III compliant at least. The ultimate owner isn't bothered about it being RHD, as used cars are so much cheaper here, and also the Euro/Pound exchange rate has made it even more attractive. -
Honda Jazz/Fit (2001 - 2008) - Interior build quality 27 Nov 2009 (Forum)
i got a jazz a 53 reg and bought it from the dealer 2 years ago, the car has done only 25k, today i noticed that the seat fabric driver seat, has split from the edge of the seat where the seams are held together, the car itself has been very reliable but am shocked that a car of low mileage have this problem with the seat fabric, going to the dealer see if they would sort it for me, i understand that if a car of high mileage or age the seat fabric would split but not of this age and mileage for my current vehicle. -

Neglected aspects of car maintenance, 1st Place? 2 May 2008 (Forum)
I mean why hasn`t a friends 13 yrs old Golf seized its ABS unit since its never had a fluid change, the ABS unit is covered in rust and crud and the fluid dark brown. It doesnt go down brake boiling hills, but why does the ABS unit work like new? Similarly who actually bothers to change modern antifreeze in older cars, lots of these would seem to be lucky if they were even maintained at a 50% solution of the correct spec. -
Bought far from perfect Elise-the law? 19 Jul 2006 (Forum)
On being informed, the specialist dealer says it is not his problem , the warranty company says it is not covered as ii is wear and tear. Can someone please remind me of her legal rights against the supplying specialist dealer, I have done a forum search but could not find the threads I sort of remembered where it is up to him to prove the car was ok prior to sale... -
Fiat Doblo van 53 plate - Aerial mount query 1 Apr 2023 (Forum)
Hi All, Just picked up a 53 plate Doblo, and its slightly taller than previous van, so the roof aerial hits our car port. Have to unscrew the whip every time we put it under cover, which is a pain. The mount is factory and looking online, it should be able to tilt, to angle it back lower against the roof, but it won't budge. -
Couple of video nuggets for the petrolhead! 5 Nov 2022 (Forum)
*A much modified Porsche 911 which, with Ruf being considered a manufacturer (like Alpina is to BMW), was for a time, the fastest production car in the world (faster than Porsche's own 959). watch Second is more a musical treat courtesy of the glorious 2.0 V6 under the engine cover of the impossibly delicate and pretty (Ferrari) Dino 206 (whose engine is fired up about 5:30) Ford Ka - Ford KA 2016 MAP Sensor Issues 7 Apr 2021 (Forum)
Hi, I have a 2016 Ford KA, about 6 weeks ago the check engine light came on with fault codes: P0105 P0106 P0101 We removed the MAP sensor and discovered it was coated in oil so cleaned it, reset the fault codes and it was fine. Today, the same fault codes appeared and the car went into limp home mode, once again the same fault codes are present and the MAP sensor is covered in oil again. The air filter and piping is dry, there's no cracks in any of the housings and the only place we can see oil is on the valve of the throttle body. -
ANY - Quick straw poll Insurance Thanks Bilboman 22 Oct 2019 (Forum)
Quick straw poll - would backroomers prefer (1) to keep the existing "competitive", "always shop around" insurance system in the UK; (2) a "rest of the world" style "any driver is covered" system; or (3) New Zealand's (unique AFAIK) state insurance scheme, whereby car insurance is not actually required: in the event of a crash, the driver sues the state and the state pursues the guilty party for costs. -
BMW 1 Series - BMW 66 plate M140i - air con failure due to stone? 13 Jun 2018 (Forum)
and having spent multiple days at the dealership (Partridge Chandlers Ford) with the engineers scratching their heads, their diagnosis is that there is stone damage to the radiator....which is apparently not covered by warranty. I am facing a bill of £750 for the radiator replacement. Given the car's age, and that it is has not been long since the model was released, i am thinking of going down the not fit for purpose route as i cant understand how something so important can be so easily damaged by a stone. -
Peugeot 508 - ding/dent at the zoo 23 Apr 2017 (Forum)
Returned from a few hours at Edinburgh Zoo only to find my car had a large scrape/dent in the drivers door. No note was left, and no vehicle was parked next to mine on our return. Reported incident to police, spoke to my insurance, and informed the zoo - who later told me that their carpark CCTV didn't cover the area where mine was parked. -
Ford C-MAX - Recovering costs incurred by faulty fuel filter 18 Aug 2016 (Forum)
I recently suffered a car breakdown which was subsequently identified as being caused by a faulty fuel filter fitted during an annual service a couple of weeks before. As I had no breakdown cover (I know, I know), I had to sign up with the AA on the spot in order to get towed home - not an insignificant cost. -
