Used Van Buying Guide: Astravan 2006-2013 20 Jan 2016 (News)
Check the alternator is working properly, a replacement can cost as much as £300. Check the operation of the windscreen wipers as the linkage is a known weak point thanks to excessive wear. If they judder or knock the linkages will need replacing. The Astravan sells on its good looks and its desirable, car-like driving character over any pretence of huge load carrying capacity. -

And Top Car again on Monday 28th. As always the best way to look for a specific car coming up at auction or to pre-check a day’s sale is to visit

The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, which dates back to 1927, was founded to commemorate the Emancipation Run of 1896. This celebrated the repeal of the Red Flag Act, which raised the speed limit to 14mph and ended the requirement for a man waving a red flag to walk in front of the vehicle.
Friday concept: Audi Quattro Spyder 7 Jun 2013 (News)
When it was introduced - as a concept - to the public at the 1991 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Quattro Spyder received rave reviews from the press, with many journalists assuming that this was a preview for an upcoming production car. Buyers were smitten, too, with many attempting to place deposits at their local dealers. We had a close look at the Quattro Spyder at Essen in 2011, on the car's 20th birthday, and came away with the lingering impression that it really did have the appeal to win sales in the mid-1990s sports car sector.

Lively Auction For Late December Today 18 Dec 2002 (News)
Spectacularly low provisional bids of the day included £7,300 for 12k mile 02 new-shape Primera 1.8S; £6,000 for the almost unsaleable 7,500 mile 2002/51 reg Lupo 1.4 TDI Sport in Fantasie Green (right car; wrong colour); and £5,300 for a 5k mile 2001Y Rover 25 1.8L Steptronic. But £10,250 provisional wasn’t as low as it seems for a 900 mile 02 Peugeot 206 2.0 litre Coupe Cabrio because it needed a lot of new panels at the front.
