citroen xsara estate v reg - 2.0hdi cutting out 26 Mar 2010 (Forum)
having a problem with our citroen. it keeps cutting out, no warning just dies. This varies as to staying dead for anything between 5- 30 mins during which time if you try to start it the engine management light stays out. The car will only start if the em light comes on during the ignition process. -
Citroen Xsara (1997 - 2004) - Faulty brakes - possible skid risk? 10 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Specifically, the risk was that of locking the rear wheels and losing control of the car. I used to have a Citroen Xsara (no ABS), which once, under heavy braking, violently went into a skid/slide. I released the brakes and corrected the skid, and stopped safely, but was a bit shaken up. I put it down to oil or diesel on the road and thought nothing of it. -
Citroen Saxo (1997 - 2003) - 98 1.6 hole in exhaust & now losing power. 5 Mar 2009 (Forum)
I've got a 98 Citroen saxo vtr. It's had a hole in the exhaust for about 6 weeks now (not had the money to get it fixed) the hole is in the pipe that comes from the centre box towards the back box. The hole is quite big and believe it or not after having it up on ramps last weekend to see how bad it was i was planning to get it fixed this weekend. -
Citroen C1 (2005 - ) - C1s and floods 20 Jan 2009 (Forum)
Since I know of at least three such vehicles, this would seem to be a particular weakness, and maybe another example of the Ctiroen great car, shame about the electrics, and they're taking Toyota down rather than bring Citroen up. Clearly I don't want to put the C1/107/Aygo on my shortlist as a possible Citry car, if a bit of water under the bonnet results in repair costs of many hundreds of pounds for a few hopelessly overpriced electronic components. -
Citroen C5 (2001 - 2008) - 2004 2.0 Petrol Review 15 Apr 2008 (Forum)
I used VTS in Warwick to sort the brakes and was £120+ VAT very helpful service and they certainly know ther citroens. 2.0 Petrol is nice to drive and has the power when required, did think of a diesel but me not used to them and know that some TDCI's can be a pain to fix when they break so stuck with petrol. -
Citroen BX (1983 - 1993) - 1987 Turbo Diesel - Flat battery 7 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Hi all, I am currently living in France, and still hanging onto my old (1987) Citroen BX Turbo Diesel. Living in the Alps, but it usually performs remarkably well in the cold. This is the second time though this year that we've had a flat battery, first was probably due to extreme cold and that we hadn't given the car a good run for a while. -
Citroen Saxo (1997 - 2003) - VTR dead battery & when bump started erratic revs 9 Nov 2007 (Forum)
I repeated exercise bump starting it a couple of times and again same problems. It was only serviced a while ago and has full Citroen SH. If it was just the battery dying then it would at least run ok when it was bump started wouldn't it ? Nothing appears to have been left turned on in the car to discharge it by the way. Any advice would be appreciated. -
Citroen Saxo (1997 - 2003) - Cat convertor. Mounting hole too big? 29 Aug 2007 (Forum)
Hi all, Purchased myself a new Cat for my 99T Citroen Saxo the other week so that I could fit it myself, should have been a simple job, just two bolts at the front, two at the back.... Anway when the part came, the holes for the bolts to go through were too big... the holes on the old piece were about the size of a 5p coin, the holes on the new piece are about the size of a 10p coin... so if I put the bolt through, it just pulls straight through - hence doesn't hold the 2 pieces together.... -
Main dealer used car prices 11 Dec 2005 (Forum)
I suppose this issue could apply to a number of car manufacturers but it particularly applies to Citroen main dealers. I saw a 54 reg C5 VTR, yesterday, at availablecar.com. It was awaiting preparation prior to being put on view but it did have a price card in the front window, which said £9999. The car had covered around 8K and was in pristine condition, so I thought I would have a look on Autotrader and the Citroen UK site, to see how the price compared with listings on these two sites. -
Citroen Xsara Clutch/Gearbox 27 Jan 2004 (Forum)
Hi, I've got a Citroen Xsara 1.9TD, 1999. Anyway, the gearbox has always been a bit notchy since I got it (3 months ago) but I asssumed that that was just the car generally. IT's done 60,000 miles. I always found it difficult to get a smooth gearchange, especially from 1st - 2nd and put it down to my driving... -
