  • Jaguar - MOT - Question 25 Jan 2021 (Forum)
Hello, my car has developed 2 faults, I cannot seem to find if a couple of faults I have are failures for a MOT, so I wondered if anyone could help with the answer, please. 1. Dashboard has an intermittent message coming on; low fuel level. The fuel is not low, but strangely enough I found when I have shopping in the boot, the low fuel level message doesn’t come on at all, as soon as the boot is empty, it comes back on!

  • Landr Rover Discovery Sport 2.0 TD4 Manual HSE Lux - New Discovery Sport Fuel Economy 6 Feb 2016 (Forum)
Hi I have recently purchased a new Disco Sport  with the new ingenium engine and I have been shocked at how poor the fuel economy is. I really Like the car but am avereaging only 34.2 miles to  the gallon and the best I can get is 39 to 40 to the Gallon if I drive very, very sedately. Compared to the published data this is apalling.

  • Mercedes Rescue QR codes 28 Oct 2014 (Forum)
I've just had my B class serviced and as part the work Mercedes are now applying QR code stickers to fuel flap and B pillar for the Mercedes Rescue system. In the event of an accident the fire service can scan the QR code and it retrieves all the construction data for the car so they can immediately make it safe by disconnecting battery, identify fuel lines, fuel tank, airbags etc.
  • Citreon Saxo - Citreon Saxo Fuel Relay Issue 11 Sep 2014 (Forum)
Hi guys, the problem I'm having is to do with my fuel pump priming on my 97, 1.1 Saxo. Currently with the Mk1 relay the pump doesn't prime, the relay clicks as it should but still nothing. So I replaced the pump and the relay to no avail... replaced the relay with two others since then to be sure.

  • ANPR for fuel 13 Aug 2013 (Forum)
You would register your reg numbers and payment card with a central database that covers ALL companies issuing fuel. This being that the owner might not be the keeper. The ANPR would read the plate, let you fill up and then deduct from your account. That way the payment card and reg would have to marry with addresses registered on the database  for both.
  • 2003 mercedes A class A170 cdi - Air bubbles in fuel line 25 Jun 2013 (Forum)
My wifes Merc has just started  cutting out or just will not start. It starts if given a blast of easy start  but this is not a solution. It may cut out after 5 minutes or it could run for a week without any trouble. When the problem occurs the clear plastic fuel pipe from the filter to the high pressure valve is just a constant stream of bubbles.I have replaced the filter and seals but the connector which connects the pipe to the filter is a pathetic flimsy plastic clip and only seems to seal if you push on it.At the moment it is held down tight with a couple of cable ties which seem to work ok, but I would appreciate comments from anyone who has or has had the same problem.

  • Any - Coasting - HJ Daily Telegraph today 10 Sep 2010 (Forum)
With the somewhat elementary credential of  a 40+ yr old Physics 'A' level I'm afraid I must disagree with HJ's opinion that coasting uses more rather than less energy. When the engine is 'idling', something has to keep it rotating whether it is fuel burning or part of the stored kinetic energy of the moving vehicle - which has originally been created by burning fuel. When I proceed in gear down a long shallow hill in the highest gear, the engine rotates at around 1,500 to 2,500 rpm.
  • Citroen Despatch (2007 - ) - 02 2.0HDi Excessive fuel comsumption low temp 8 Feb 2010 (Forum)
I have brought a citroen dispatch in december 2.0l HDI, I am only doing roughly 30-35 miles on £10 of diesel, i have changed the fuel filter, glow plugs, thermostat and the expansion bottle cap due to it getting warm either? the van sits at 70degrees and takes a while to get to this roughly 5-8 miles. The van starts and drives good plenty of power and no smoke, i have had the van on a scanner and the only code was P1108 which is to do with the fan i believe.
