  • Cap-less 16 Dec 2003 (Forum)
Weird one this. Someone has stolen all the little silver dust caps of the alloys on our MINI. Annoying as it is, I\'m more confused than angry - what on earth do people want with dust caps? There are some terribly odd folk about. Lee MINI adventure in progress

  • Mini Cooper - Dealer liable for new brakes? 27 Oct 2020 (Forum)
Hi Daughter bought a 2017 Mini Cooper on 11th Sept from a fairly large dealership in the midlands (we're in Scotland). Last week the brakes started grinding and she took it into her local Kwik Fit who said it needed new rear discs and pads and a sensor (cost about £240).
  • MINI Countryman - Stop/Start not working? 26 Oct 2018 (Forum)
I have a 12 plate Mini countryman, manual, petrol, a few months ago the stop/start function stopped working and I have no idea why. The Air con hasn't been used much, I know when air con is in use the s/s cuts out.
  • Ford Transit Mini Bus - Front wheel alignment 13 May 2016 (Forum)
Is this the case. Just took a school mini bus into a tyre fitting depot and had two front tyres fitted and front wheel alignment adjusted. On the journey back I momentarily took my hands off the steering wheel, and the bus started to veer left.
  • Mini one 1.4 2008 - Reset brake service indicator 27 Sep 2013 (Forum)
I've had the front brake pads replaced on my wifes 2008 1.4 Mini One - the discs and wear indicators were ok so these were left. When the garage has tried to reset the brake service indicator - it simply stays at 1000 miles - I've also tried myself several times going through the reset procedure but the indicator still shows 1000 miles!
  • MINI Cooper 2013 - Parts delivery frustration 3 Jul 2013 (Forum)
Is there anybody out there who is in the same boat as I am? I have been waiting almost 8 weeks for a offside door barrel lock for my new Mini Cooper from BMW in Germany. BMW customer services have told me the part is in now in Germany after 8 weeks of chasing around in circles! BMW customer services still can't tell me when the part will be delivered to England!
  • MINI Cooper S - Condensation in rear lamp cluster 5 Jul 2012 (Forum)
I have a 5 week old Mini Cooper S that when it is washed the O/S/R lamp cluster starts to mist over - this is quite minimal to start with but then gets worse over a couple of hours to the effect that 3/4 of the lens is covered in mist.

  • Super-minis on motorways - more of them? 18 Sep 2008 (Forum)
With more people apparently opting for smaller more fuel efficient cars I wonder if we are going to begin to see more super-minis type cars - Jazzs, Micras, Yaris, the small Citroens, etc - on our motorways doing the commute? I haven't travelled on motorways for over a year so, perhaps, you guys are already seeing this? Are you noticing more or are the motorway commuting cars still by and large the bigger Focus and above sized cars?
  • MINI Clubman R55 (2007 - ) - dead in the water? 9 Jul 2008 (Forum)
iv) It looks like a toy, and with optional privacy glass it looks like a pocket hearse. v) Unlike the Mini, men don't seem to like it as much as women vi) A lot of women would probably prefer a soft-roader. vii) Who actually wants one? The only positive I can think of is the good emissions. But is that enough?
  • Original Mini Gearsticks 2 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Can anyone tell me in what year the original long, floppy gearstick on minis was changed for the factory remote one? I really should remember as I had an early 850, originally raced by Christobel Carlyle Reg. CMC77, but she kept that plate! Sshe moved onto a big Healey, I think it was, and had a big moment at Silverstone when she hit a marshall's post just before the starting straight..
  • Rebuild 1275 metro/mini engine 8 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Got a 1275 metro engine in the garage, got it from a so called friend (who isnt a friend any longer!!) all ready to fit into my Mini. However, the engine is completely seized and on closer inspection cylinder 1 is full of water and cylinder 4 has a layer of rust around the sides and mayonnaise on top of the piston. Not sure whether it will be worth our while getting it checked out and possibly rebored and rebuilt or should we just forget it and scrap it?

  • Tootle 15 Jul 2017 (Forum)
Does anyone have any experience of selling via Tootle? Selling my (nearly) three-year olds Mini Cooper with lots of extras; it cost over 23K but have only been offered £10,200 for part exchange with Mini and £10,800 with Audi. Has moved me to tears as only 6,000 on clock and in perfect condition.
